Best Indian food I've ever had, the lamb vindaloo was just excellent. Spice level had me sweating, deep flavor, perfect naan. The owner is also super nice, our service was excellent. Hope to be back one day

A Lackluster Indian Takeaway Experience at AkashI feel compelled to share my experience with Akash Indian Takeaway, especially considering my wife's Indian background and our high hopes for a satisfying meal for her parents, who were visiting from Delhi. While we understood that we couldn't expect an authentic gourmet Indian feast in Wiltshire, we were still left disappointed by the overall lack of spice, flavour, and seasoning in the food. It seemed as if the restaurant missed the memo on the essence of Indian cuisine.We ordered a variety of dishes, hoping for an enjoyable culinary journey. However, each one fell short of expectations. The lack of understanding of spice and seasoning was evident in every bite. The food seemed uninspired and failed to capture the vibrant flavors that make Indian cuisine so beloved. It was disheartening to discover that even with our low expectations, Akash couldn't deliver a satisfying taste experience.To emphasise the disappointment, my father-in-law took matters into his own hands and cooked a curry at our AirBNB using the few scraps we had around the house and next to no spices. Surprisingly, his homemade creation surpassed the flavors and richness of the entire meal we ordered from Akash. I assure you, I'm not saying this just to earn brownie points—it genuinely highlights the stark contrast in taste and quality.To be fair, there were a couple of positives in this experience. The food arrived promptly, still hot, and the prices were relatively affordable. These factors, however, pale in comparison to the overall lack of flavour and authenticity that we had hoped for in an Indian takeaway.In conclusion, if you're seeking a lackluster Indian-inspired soup experience, Akash may meet your expectations. However, if you're in search of a truly flavorsome culinary adventure with the taste and texture that Indian cuisine is renowned for, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Akash left us wanting more, and we were ultimately left unsatisfied with the overall quality of the food.

I cant forget the taste of the food.The staff are so friendly and food is out of the world. I order chicken dosa with tandoori chicken both are so tasty. Price is so affordable.The best Indian restaurant in Chippenham.Must recommend this.

Today Lunch we Served A Party For 10 people!! They Relished and Enjoyed the Food Very Much And commented on the Authentic Indian delicacies we served them And said they will come again and again and will recommend to friends and family! They liked the friendly service and ambiance of our Restaurant!

Lamb was over cooked and barley recognisable as lamb, more like a tough leather boot worn by a soldier with trench foot in the Second World War. Service was good tho, very kind man but he needs to find better cooks. They aren’t doing him any favours.

Perfect Indian food in a far off land from India!The host is absolutely fantastic and the restaurant serves really great dosa! The ambience is authentic and isn’t like one of those fake Indian restaurants run by non Indians!We tried the Madrasi chicken and it was absolutely delightful with its flavours and plentiful chicken.If you are craving Indian food, do not skip this one when you are in Wiltshire.

Normally I love Akash. Ordered one vegetable korma and one chicken korma as we fancied something mild. The chicken korma was mild, as a korma should be. The vegetable korma on the other hand was extremely spicy! Not mild like it should have been! I eat spicy food but I am unhappy that I ordered and paid for a mild curry and it turned out to be the total opposite! I have a high tolerance to spice and was struggling to eat it, it was that hot my eyelids were sweating! How the hell does a simple korma become as hot as a jalfrezi. Ridiculous. Offered another free one for next time like I want to take the risk again. Not happy and the customer service on the phone was condescending and rude. I won’t be bothering again after being a loyal customer for a while now.

My brother visited this place with some expectations from these reviews. He ordered a Paneer curry. The curry was bland with no taste whatsoever. It felt like they have just take some masala out from the frozen, put some veg/Paneer and quickly given it out. It was a quite night with no other guests yesterday when he visited, yet the food was very disappointing.

Super happy they open for lunch. Had a take away dosa which was very reasonable priced and it was 10/10. Took it back to the office and tucked in. Will be goong back.
