Tilbury Taxis

This morning at treacle mine one of your idiot drivers REG KU67 SOC failed to pick up the correct lane when heading to lakeside on A1012 from A13! Instead what he did was pick up the left lane which is for left or to lodge lane! Your driver then tried to come across to the lakeside lane (right hand lane) which I was in and is the correct lane!!! When I hooted him to make him aware he was about to hit my car he then decided to hurl abuse at me swearing through his window, which he opened to just do! As a professional driver he should be able to navigate lanes correctly and conduct himself in a professional manner whilst carrying passengers!! I would have done this via email had you had the option but you don’t so I’ve had to go down this route! Even worse he had a passenger in the car!! This was around 8.30 this morning 17/09/18! Your drivers are meant to be professional drivers. It’s a shame my dash cam failed to record otherwise I’d be reporting this driver to Thurrock council!

Used company to get to cruise terminal at Tilbury from a local address in Grays where we had paid for parking. Dispatcher said half an hour but it took an hour for the taxi to arrive, then they didn't use a meter, just charged us an extortionate price for quite a short journey. We hadn't even been given a price but driver had it written down as agreed set price from dispatcher. Driver said that the office always tell customers a shorter time to keep the trade. Obviously they just fleece all the non local cruise passengers. Don't get caught out like we did. On the way home we used a different company at the dock and it was only just over half the price for the same journey!

Other taxi companies couldn't find the cruise terminal. These guys were superb and arrived quickly. Friendly driver

You can't order a car to pick you up at a particular time, the cars don't take EFT payments and the drivers don't carry much change. They also get annoyed if you don't have closer to the exact money.If you're lucky you might get the driver I had this morning who complained that he had no change (at the start of the shift), thought it was ridiculous to accept card payments and then proceded to tell me how when he picks up a black" they'd only ever have large notes but"the whites" were ok and more understanding. Needless to say i learnt about a few more of his racial prejudices and his ignorance of the world."

Ordered a taxi to be told it would be 15 minutes roughly then find out another taxi arrives for pick up nearly half hour later for someone else to be told by the driver our request for a taxi has only just gone through the radio. Been waiting 30 minutes for someone but they pick someone else up who had been waiting only 10 minutes. Disgraceful service.

I’ve been using tilbury taxis for as long as I can remember, before my grandad passed away, he used to use a taxi every week to get his shopping my grandfather seemed to know all the drivers by name and loved grabbing a taxi each week just to get away and have a chat. my brother uses them sometimes when heading to work. I myself use them when needing to go to Grays or if I have meetings and I don’t want to get on the bus. In all the time I’ve used them for the most part the taxi drivers are polite and happy to talk to you while you are getting a lift. There are times I have gotten a moody driver that has not been as talkative or seemed a little unhappy but never to the point I’ve had a problem. (We all have off days right) Cars have aways been clean and comfortable getting a lift in and as for price I think given the currently price of petrol and things it’s understandable that travelling by taxi would cost more but its not to the point I question if I’m getting a bad deal. The only real downside is sometimes getting at taxi can be hard during set times (school runs) and waiting times can be long but that is more due to demand and has little to do with the service. Overall, I am really pleased with the service I get when using tilbury taxis. I will happily continue to use them going forward.
