GB Motorhome Tours Ltd. Review June 2023Not our best experience.We travelled to the Loire Valley with GB Motorhome Tours 17th May to 6th June 2023. Having been recommended and given good reviews that they supplied a very good experience. they unfortunately failed. They failed on more than one occasion and on several aspects.The Loire tour was from Nantes to Angers to Saumur, Tours and Blois. From Saumur the allocation of pitches became questionable. I was personally shouted at for arriving at the next site too early. Not what you expect from your “Tour Director” . Finally at the last camp site an area had been allocated for all 15 Motorhomes but there were only 8 electrical hook ups. There was plenty of space in the open, level area but no one had any electrical splitters and so we were all running around with Hook up cables trying to secure other pitches, many of which were not very level and not “together” with the rest of the tourExcursions had not been tested as was seen when visiting a Winery when we had 35 rustic steps to descend and no other route down to the Caves and we had 2 members of the party in wheel chairs. This had obviously not been checked out before hand and when some one asked one of the tour directors if they had been to this winery before the answer was “no its all new to me” And whilst we found it OK, many of the days when we had excursions we had 4 events taking us from early morning to early evening which some people found a bit exhausting.This is what GB Motorhome Tours say: “Why tour with us? All escorted tours are created by people who have over 30 years experience leading tours. Every Tour is fully researched with campsites visited and excursion tested personally.” Our Tour directors had 2 years experience and it was clear that from Saumur on none of the campsites had not been fully visited and checked out and none of the tours tested. I could go on!!So if you are looking for a relaxing motorhome accompanied tour, without hassle, so you can just relax and let everything be taken care of, look for another company, this one is not for you.
