A fantastic experience not to be missed!! With great enthusiasm and knowledge, our guides Vicky and Maggie took us back in time detailing how David Parr created his master piece and his grand daughter Elsie preserved his legacy for us to enjoy. You don’t have to be in to property or art to enjoy this tour, however you may come out of it feeling like you have had a whirlwind lesson in both including having touched on a little bit of interesting history. I can’t wait to take friends and family back for the ride.

We really loved our visit to this seemingly ordinary house (it is actually anything but), which offered an unique insight into the life of its extraordinary owner and his family. The size of the house restricts visits to small, guided groups, which makes an experience that is all the better. The guides are very knowledgeable and super welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone interested in arts, craft, local history or all the above.

Came with friends to visit this unique house. Very friendly and knowledgeable guides who made us very welcome. Lots of interesting information that brought the house and owners to life. Definitely worth a visit.

The tour really brought the house to life. I'd seen the painting online but hadn't anticipated the sense of being immersed in the historic domestic world of 3 generations. I got a bit obsessed with the patterned original lino, the colours, the stoves and lack of plumbing etc. I'd highly recommend it. It's not quite like anywhere I've been before.

My sister and I visited the house on 11 May and found it absolutely fascinating. Our two guides were knowledgable and informative and really brought the house and the past residents to life. It was a very enjoyable tour, with time to ask questions as well.Seeing items from the Leach workshop was a real bonus, the care and thought that had gone into presentation throughout the visitor centre and shop was very evident. It was also good to see local makers being supported in the shop. All in all an excellent experience and I am hoping to return later in the summer with friends.

What a gem! I did think the price quite high before we went but you get 1.5 hour tour and the pleasure of knowing you’re helping to fund the brilliant work the team are doing there. Gorgeous stuff in the gift shop from local artists and makers.

When I visited Cambridge for the first time before Lockdown I discovered the house, but our short visit wasn't on opening days, so this return trip I made a point of booking months ahead. We were not disapponted. It's incredible & an absolute gem if you love Arts & Crafts design & social history. Our guide Penny & her colleague were enthusiastic & knowledgable; they gave us an engaging tour that was just the right length. The small group size makes for a personal tour, like the owners showing round friends, & this adds to the specialness.I was wowed by David Parr's ambition, intensity & skill in handpainting his home over decades. And hearing his grand daughter's story and seeing how she lived was fascinating. I'm so glad it was discovered by accident in the noughties & not swept away by a developer.I'm recommending to friends & will happily revisit.

We had a personal tour because we had friends visiting from New Zealand for a few days wheich didn't coincide with the usual tours of teh house. Everybody was so helpful in arranging this. We were allowed 6 people and this made it only slightly more expensive than the standard tour so it was well worth doing ti this way. We were all totally fascinated by opur tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and helpful and we are so please we went - we had been menaing to go for a couple of years and so pleased we finally got to do it! Thanks everyone!

Friendly and welcoming guide.Fascinating house to visit if you love Victorian decor, Arts&Crafts Movement, time capsules, or social history like Back In Time for Dinner.A survival so much rarer than any stately home, and worth visiting as a result.

This house is interesting but very small and the ladies who take you round explain a lot which takes one and half hours and really goes on far too long. Apart from the first room the sitting room the rest of the rooms are very 1950’s and sparsely furnished. The lady that does not do the talking is watching your every move in case you touch the walls which is very off putting and makes you feel very uncomfortable. Definitely not worth £15.
