It's absolutely absurd that you have to ring at 8.00 in the morning to get an appointment.. regardless to the reason for that appointment..you can't ask for an appointment for the next day or next week or for whenever they can fit you in.i work and I have to stay at home to ring at 8.00 and then waste my time sitting around for the appointment if it's 2/3 hours later. There is always a notice up, saying that, yet again 300 or so appointments were not kept.in the last month..such a waste of the Doctor's/nurses time...it just proves that this scheme DOESN'T WORK. There should be the facility for a sit and wait clinic..then if someone doesn't attend for their appointment the next person can be seen... without wasting everybody's valuable time. It worked amazingly well in my previous doctors surgery, and I'm sure that the non attendance rate was far lower than at this surgery. Apart from that, it would be much more reassuring,to know that all the staff are singing from the same hymn sheet. Not the case at this surgery.

awful! impossible to get an appt. we had to transfer here as our other doctor surgery retried and closed and it is a nightmare.. the doctors and nurse themselves are lovely but its so hard to get an appt. NO PRE BOOKING APPOINTMENTS which for someone like me who works full time in london is extremely hard. you have to phone up at 8am on the day to book (you literally have to call 20 times cos is constantly busy then when you finally do get connected you're on hold for 20 mins) then when you finally speak to someone all the evening appointments which i could make after getting home from london are gone and thats it, nothing you can do about it. absolutely ridiculous!! the reception staff are rude about it too, and apparently their reasoning for no pre-booking is that people forget about their appointments - the solution: either only allow people to prebook apps for that week (nobody will forget that) or send out text reminders or phone calls to patients. REALLY NOT THAT HARD. I've never come across such a stupid policy and we are changing surgeries which is a shame cos as i said the doctors themselves and the nurse is lovely.

The GPs themselves are fine, when you can see them but it's severely mismanaged by the receptionists and whoever dictates the practice policy. Having to phone at 8am every morning until you get lucky is just ridiculous. There's absolutely no priorities given, even when I phoned for my three year old son (they didn't even ask for his name or age) they fobbed me off.You could have people with serious conditions that need to be seen urgently in competition with someone making an appointment for a repeat prescription, it's disgusting really and I do genuinely fear it will lead to deaths.

I spent nearly two hours on the phone trying to get through. Constantly engaged. When I did get through I was out on hold for 27 minutes. When I finally got thought I was told nothing she could do, no appointments today and will have to call again tomorrow at 8am even though I had shocking ear ache. or she said call 111. This receptionist was shocking, had no empathy whatsoever and I cannot understand why or how she is working in a customer service role. I did call 111. Lovely gentleman. Told him my frustrations and he said this surgery has a terrible reputation and they are quick to fob people off to 111. All the years I have been with Doctor Satanandan it's always been a good experience and I always felt looked after. Such a shame he retired. And do these receptionists not think many of us have to go to work and it's impossible to call for 2 hours every day. It's a disgrace to our NHS service

If i could give zero stars I would. Not a reflection on the drs- would be nice to actually get an appointment to see one- but the reception are the rudest most unhelpful staff - stuck up, diabolical communication with no peopleskills or empathy. GET SOME TRAINING ON MANNERS

Always hit and miss here. The receptionist I spoke to was lovely and tried her best.. I was ordering a repeat inhaler for my 12 year old who needs these as and when. The receptionist said the doctor would sign the script off, later that day I went to collect he hadn’t done this due to my child not having one in over 6 months. Even though this has been on her records for over 10 years and re-prescribed when she needs it. I had to get the same inhaler off a family member as they had a spare otherwise it would have probably been a trip to a&e. Disgusting service by the doctor for a child. Only giving 2 stars as the receptionist tried her best.

The services provided by Eastwood Group practice are quite poor. It's incredibly difficult to secure an appointment, and even if you do manage to get one, it's not uncommon to receive a call shortly thereafter to inform you that your appointment has been cancelled.

The service here is awful. The staff on reception are helpful... and cannot be blamed when you finally get through. They are doing what they are told. This service is far from efficient. You can never get an appointment on the same day. You wait ages to be told ring back tomorrow. Or you can have a face to face in 6 weeks time. It's ridiculous. Doctors do not follow up either. Very shoddy

Due to this surgery's practice of hiring a rottweiler in place of the receptionist It is still impossible to get an appointment. If visiting the surgery in despair, it is reassuring to find she has been placed within a toughened glass enclosure, so that she may only bark at visitors and passers-by.

Eastwood Group Practice
Firstly the receptionist’s here have always been extremely helpful, in fact the lady I spoke to this morning went above and beyond to help me. Lovely people. Yes it can be hard to get appointments but it’s exactly the same thing at any GP surgery at the moment I’m guessing. I personally think from the receptionist’s through to the GP’s, this surgery is fantastic.
