Hardwick Country Park
A fantastic place for an afternoon out.A lovely wooded area to walk through and a good size lake with plenty of wild birds to see and feed. The cafe near the carpark has a selection of sandwiches and cakes. Highchairs are available and a water bowl for dogs. The prices aren't too bad. Only tip is if you want to eat in the cafe they seem to sell out of sandwiches quickly. The gift shop isn't very good. It mainly has soft toys for children and not much else. They do sell food to feed the birds on the lake

Absolutely beautiful. Dog friendly (on leads because of waterfowl)…. A stunning walk round the lake and a lovely cafe with nice coffee and homemade cakes. A delight just off the A1.

This is a beautiful park with a great walking track. Some parts without trees and some parts under shade. Mostly without trees though. Lots of water fowl as well.

My first visit didn't disappoint. Visited with wife, 11 year old son and dog. Good facilities, 50p for a bag of bird feed and a truly beautiful walk around the lake and monuments galore. £2 to park for 2 hours and £3 for all day. Only downside was (of course) people with dogs not keeping them on a lead, one dog jumped in the lake after a duck. The owner just stood there screaming!! The weather was lovely and the photos speak a thousand words.

Visited this lovely park today. Very easy to find, plenty of parking spaces and cafe and toilets all there in a great location. Parking isn’t free, we paid £3.15 for an all day ticket on the pay by phone app. You can pay cash too and pay £2.00 for 2 hours.Everywhere was practically litter free, and my pet hate (dog poo) wasn’t anywhere, perhaps the paying to park deters the people who don’t take care of their dogs. The park is huge, plenty to see and make things more interesting. There’s a small play park for toddlers mainly. A lovely cafe with a small menu, a shop , clean toilets etc etc. There are loads of wildlife about, ducks, swans and the like, you can buy food to feed them from the shop. All in all, we enjoyed a great walk, a lovely sandwich and the sun was out. This place is 20 minutes from where I live and I’ve passed this place loads of times. I’m sure we went previously and the parking charge was much more, so we drove off, but £2-3.00 is very reasonable. We will definitely be going again.

This place is quite local to me and often take the dog there for a nice peaceful walk.Plenty of parking space although in good weather in summertime it does get extremely busy. Parking currently is £2 for 2 hours and I think it's only a little more for all day. Cash or 'paybyphone' and make sure you do pay because you will get fined. I know this because during the height of COVID they ceased the charges & I hadn't realised they'd been reinstated. There is a cafe and toilets on site right near the car park. Picnic benches and benches scattered around the park, plenty of spots to take a rest or enjoy a picnic.

We had a lovely time, lunch was very good, the grounds looked beautiful coveted in snow, and seeing Santa was the cherry on the cake
