Citygate Volkswagen

I purchased my daughters car from VW Chalfont with a service agreement and for the past 4 years it has been serviced and MOT'd with them. On Monday 12th June I went into the service department seeking assistance as the drivers seat belt was jammed. I was met with a curt, unhelpful response and told We can't look at it for two and half weeks". No effort to quickly examine it or help a regular customer even though the vehicle was now illegal and could not be used. Appalling service which will now result in me ending our relationship with VW."

We have just purchased my car from Citygate Chalfont.We would highly recommend them.We have been looking for some time and the service offered by different brands and dealerships has varied wildly.At Citygate, we were helped by Stefan who was great. Purchased a new VW E golf in 2019; sold with 3 year service package. Each service attended to was discourteous: asked for courtesy car, tried to be sold higher insurance package, told tyre needed replacement and when checking at Independant tyre shop who confirmed it didn’t. During winter I had ice on inside of screen, asked for help and nothing provided other than its a fault with the model. Further , had mould build on seats but because I was outside of warranty period, was asked for a large fee just to review. In addition, I was having ongoing problems with key fob asking for battery replacement. I am writing this review as I have just checked the fob and the service centre put in the incorrect battery (2032) and it actually requires size 2025. This level of incompetence just sums up the experience i have had.

I was looking to buy a new car, the Golf was on the shortlist so I enquired. After a pleasant conversation about spec and finance I asked for a test drive it was revealed I couldn't test drive anything over 150hp due to my age...For context I'm a HGV driver who drives a 500hp/2,500Nm vehicle professionally and a personal car with a bit more than 150hp.Citygate themselves have been top notch throughout, communicative and polite, it's the Volkswagen part that is the failure as they are working under the constraints of Volkwagen UK. I do not understand how young people buy new VWs (>150hp) if they can't drive them?Shame, I quite liked the Golf.

Easy to book my service, very efficient and all well communicated, they advised, but didn't hard sell. Really appreciated them going over explaining the results and assuring I was happy with everything, I would definitely go again safe in the knowledge they pride themselves in good service, worth paying a little more than a local mechanic

I honestly cannot thank Citygate Chalfont enough for being so welcoming and helpful! My polo needed some repairs and from the very beginning Charlie was on it! I was very anxious and Charlie put me at ease as soon as they knew what faults my car had and they repaired it extremely fast. I will not take my car anywhere else! Thank you Charlie, Chris and the rest of the Chalfont team!

Terrible service. I was called in to look at my car, service tech was ‘r32’ expert and told me the headlight levelling sensor had seized as the connecting arm to it had bent. Turns out this is how they all are and it wasn’t seized! Then report from them states loads of work required, like saying Heldex etc never been done when if they’d bothered to check the service book which they had in their possession it shows two previous changes of oil! Car is serviced by them every year!! Incompetent and if that tech is your r32 ‘expert’ I’d be horrified to see a non expert work on a car!
