Have been a few times and the service is good. Even when they are busy. Food is fresh. A nice place to go for some good English food. Best to reserve a table as they do get full often.

Visited 21st Nov in the evening. Never been for food before but it was so good. Great choice and they do a Sunday carvery which will certainly be trying. Service was great and although it was busy we felt very well looked after. Had steak and ale pie and couldn’t fault it. Give this place a try.

12 of us visited to celebrate a colleague retiring and have a lovely evening.The food was delicious, well presented and nice to see different dishes from the norm.Staff were friendly and really could not have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable.The atmosphere was pleasant and the time flew by so much that we didn’t want the night to end.Many thanks

Stopped for Sunday Lunch, they found us a space even though we hadn't booked. Opted for the Sunday carvery, choice of three meats,or a bit of each. Veggie option was tasty too loads of vegetables, all nicely cooked. Cheerful helpful staff.

Really really disappointed. I've been here a few times in the past and it was quite nice and catered well for my allergies. However this time, I went to order vegan fries and steak (my allergies limit me massively in what I can have and the allergy menu said these would be ok) only to be told they had had Halloumi in the same fryer they use for gluten free and Vegan items. I found this extremely disappointing and the servers did really well to try and rectify this to the best of their ability but its extremely disappointing and made me slightly uneasy about eating anything from here. Certainly will not be coming back here and I strongly advise that if you have allergies or are vegan, don't bother coming here. I rarely post reviews like this as everyone makes mistakes and I appreciate them being cautious but this is not good enough and made, what should of been a celebration meal, into a meal I found extremely disappointing.

We had a Christmas lunch for 15 people with pre orders of 2 or 3 courses each. Some of the meals could have done with being a bit hotter but mine was absolutely fantastic and all the meals were really nicely presented. The portion sizes were very generous for all three courses. Overall it was a great experience for a large group which isn't always the case.

I loved the food. Starter, main and pudding were all excellent. Quick service especially considering how busy it was.Only downside was the parking, but suspect I could park outside if needed.

This was the second time we had been in the Dovecote for a Sunday lunch, and this time was 100% better than the last time.Service was fast efficient and very friendly.Meat was great (beef), it was late in the day but the veg was plentiful and still nice.
