Absolutely love this place. Very friendly staff. Hugh selection of beer . Personally I don't drink beer but my husband does he loved it. I had gin and tonic a good selection of different flavours .

Bloomin brilliant bar! Everything. Staff are really friendly and seem to genuinely care whether you're happy. Locals are friendly, chatting to us about other places we should visit whilst in Rye. Drinks prices are lowest I've seen in maybe 10 years and the selection is top knotch. It doesn't serve food really but the pickled eggs, and homemade scotch eggs and pork pies kept us standing despite the delicious 8% cider.

Really nice and friendly pub in Rye, stopped there after our bike ride, met the super friendly people behind the bar, tried an amazing schotched egg and had great company from the owner’s dog

I was walking through Rye on my day-trip, hoping to try a few of the pubs. I was actually on my way to a different pub when I was lured into the Waterworks, initially because of the long list of real ales on a chalkboard out front, and then by the charming exterior, and once I stepped inside, I was sold.... and I hadn't even had a sip of the ale yet! I tried one of the home brewed ales and was over the moon. I regret not trying the scotch eggs, now that I've read some of the other reviews. If I ever return to Rye, this place is reason enough!

Went for a pint and stayed for four. Local ale and homemade pork pie and scotch egg were exceptional. Staff were amazing. Close quarters seating arrangement was a positive as we met some lovely people.

Quirky micro brew pub we visited on Sunday afternoon. After a sortee to the nearby deli we joined the locals cheese club . Everyone's encouraged to socialise the ales included 2 from their own Waterworks brewery. Local beers gins and ciders showcased East Sussex and Kent small batch products

A really popular micropub, with a great array of beers and ciders. If you like beer and visit Rye, go there, some outside seating, but really it's all about the the brews. A first class establishment.

The Waterworks is a micropub in Rye, East Sussex. It is a small, cozy pub with a friendly atmosphere. The pub has a wide selection of craft beers and ciders, as well as a small menu of light snacks.I visited the Waterworks on a Saturday afternoon. The pub was busy, but there was still plenty of space to sit and enjoy a drink. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and they were happy to chat about the different beers and ciders on offer. Although there was a slight hint of sarcasm from the barmaid when I didn't know what the difference between ales vs larger...I tried a few different beers, and I was impressed with the quality of the selection. The food was also delicious, and I enjoyed the cheese and pickle sandwich.

While visiting friends in East Grinstead I was taken for a day out to Rye. We visited The Water Works Micropub on the junction of Tower Street and Rope Walk. I have to admit that this was the most fascinating micropub I have ever been to. Not massively big inside but building has an interesting history. In 1620 it was a Horse Powered Waterhouse, 1907 a Soup Kitchen, 1976 a Public Toilet and in 2018 became a Micopub. It also is a bit of an Antique Shop as nearly everything inside is for sale. The table we sat at was for sale for £45 and one of the chairs £15. There are a few tabkes outside as well.Importantly it had an excellent choice of beer straight from the barrel, cider etc. They also served locally produced Pork Pies and Scotch Eggs for £4.00 each plus a selection of cobs.Much to my amusement the toilet chain in the gents was a beer hand pull with Doombar on it. Brilliant. The staff and owners were very friendly and chatty. Would love to go back but would definitely recommend a visit.
