Underwhelming. The food just seemed to lack something in every bite. The bread was soggy in the crostini, everything needed a little pinch of salt, the egg salad was incredibly bland! The savory tart was tasty but didn't look like the pastry was made in house. The brownie was lacking chocolate flavor, the peach choux didn't have much peach on it and just tasted like Chantilly cream.Kitchen does not account for serving you more than the allotted portions of sandwiches. When we asked our server for more savory scones they weren't able to accommodate (though they did give us an extra egg sandwich to make up for it).The servers didn't really check in on us. We had to flag them down for more tea etc.Had high hopes for this restaurant especially because I know that they have a Michelin green star. It wasn't until the end of the meal that I learned that is a separate kitchen. Perhaps that had something to do with the lackluster meal we got.Setting is beautiful and it's decorated really well. Bathrooms had sopping wet floors on this occasion. They do offer vegan and vegetarian teas.

Really beautiful location for our anniversary date. The tea house was very pretty, surrounded by plants (as it is also a garden centre), although I didn’t consider that the floor would be soil. I loved that the serving trays were also a vase, and besides the delicious menu, chose to visit for the floral arrangements as well!Definitely recommend for casual (smart casual dress code) and romantic occasions if you love good food and a natural setting!

The location is beautiful, surrounded by plants and flowers, which on a sunny day make you feel like you’re on holiday, somewhere far away from London. Shame that all the rest was very poor. Service was slow and staff seemed annoyed any time we asked for something (like tap water). Food is really mediocre and absolutely not worth the £50. Some bits of stale bread and hummus and dry cake, which aside from being tasteless didn’t even look nice.

Came here on recommendation and it really was a great experience. It's in a lovely greenhouse with lots of foliage to decorate it. The staff were really friendly but their system means that they can be a little slow to get to you. Otherwise it's fine. The food however was fantastic, I had a sourdough toastie with prosciutto, cheddar and onion. And it was such a great toastie. We also had a trofie pasta salad which was also done amazingly. We then finished off with tea and scones which was a lovely way to finish off a great meal with fresh jam, cream and warm scones.I would recommend coming here. I would also get here early to avoid queues (or at least a long one)

It was a mess we showed up and took ages to be seated once seated we were promptly ignored for 15mins until i stood and got our own menu. After that we asked to move in side as we were chilly we were told that this was not possible and to stay outside. After 20 more minutes of being ignored it started to rain at which point we once again asked to be moved inside and we were told no yet again. Our order was then taken and by this point it was chucking it down and we were getting soaked and we had to step away from our table and stand under some shelter. After 20 more minutes of waiting under shelter and asking any staff member that would come by if we could sit inside we were sat down inside. With the seating what was especially was we saw tons of open tables inside. After that we were served some very average chicken cutlets and delivered are drinks significantly after we had finished our meal. Inside our drinks we found a hair and had the drink in question swapped. After all of this the bill came once again not particularly fast and it was verging on very pricey and the drink with hair in was still on the bill. The only positive I have to say was the place was actually quite pretty. We were work in hospitality and this was quite the opposite of that. If you have the money to eat there find somewhere else Richmond has plenty of lovely pubs I’m sure that would serve type of food just without getting wet.

The tea house at Peterham Nurseries offers a really unique afternoon tea experience. The set menu is £45 a person and includes a large selection of savoury bites and sweet options and scones. The setting is also very relaxed and the tea selection was impressive too. Highly recommend!

Place itself is great, very cozy. We came there for some teas/coffees but decided to have something to eat as well. Food was really delicious, but I can’t say that service was good, very average. It took more than 10 minutes to remove empty plates from tiny small table, though waitresses were passing by a few times without anything in their hands.

Overall a very underwhelming experience, unfortunately. Perhaps a mismatch to our expectation. I had booked it as a surprise for our 7th wedding anniversary. We live in south east London so it was a trek to reach but Petersham tea had been on my list for a while and after reading some raving reviews I was convinced that it would be worth the long journey. However, the food was okayish, service was underwhelming despite I had noted that we were there to celebrate anniversary. I’d still recommend for a casual afternoon perhaps but 55£pp was def not worth the level of service or food.

Service feels a bit manic in what is such a lovely tranquil setting. Cake was delicious but took forever to arrive. Orange and almond cake is moist and very citrusy. Carrot cake is light and moist with the perfect amount of cream cheese frosting.
