Staff were so helpful and explanatory. Evie and Megan helped with the skates and aids and plenty of people will support you on the ice. It’s daunting until the children have found their groove but it only takes around 15/30 mins. We went as a family of 5. A six year old, a 4.5 and 3.5 year old. It’s an expensive day for little ones but the older the children the better value you’ll get!! Needless to say it was absolutely awesome. Get the support aids - they mean the children can grow in confidence, it is after all a learning process. Enjoy first and learn as you go. The seals are amazing for the little ones to ride on, but be aware they’ll get colder not moving. Avoid bulky coats for skaters as you’ll get WARM. A zip up and a few thin layers is best. When children are older they can stay the WHOLE day, so if you want them do be able to do it as an older child, it’s worth the investment when they’re smaller. A fab half term morning - if a bit spendy!

They changed a rule where you cannot use the warm room in the ice skating for the public session. Midway through the school summer holidays they changed a rule where you cannot skate after the ice skating lessons and we used to go because it was £10 - 15 for a 30 minute public lesson and an extra free time to practise and play but now the rule is changed and costs too much for lessons. Before the ice rink was good but its run down and the toilets are pretty bad. The ice is good and nice to skate on but come on Colin.

I wanted for my litle one(nearly 4 years) to skate with a pinguin as he loves it ,But the elderly lady at the entrance said I can not go on the ice rink to help him keep his balance, and he can not go on the ice rink by himself. Another slap of £17(adult + skates) and (child+skates+penguin =£14)+£17 it's a total ofl £31 waisted for an hour for my toddler to have some fun.Defenetly I will not come back again .You put those rules in place just to rip off your customers.

First visit here with a family of 4. Having read the mixed reviews I didn't know what to expect. On the whole, it was a good experience. With a couple of caveats below.Had no issues with the parking. And, in fact, the parking is incredibly cheap. Parking a mile down the road in the town centre and the prices are double.Paid using the machine, using Google pay. No probs. The centre was clean and in a good state of repair. We thought it would be quiet in a term time weekday. But it was quite busy. Even the lovely lady who served us said it was unexpectedly busy. But the atmosphere was great. No attitudes on the ice and the rink is big enough for experienced and newbies to share. The cafe wasn't open (and doesn't seem to be during weekdays).. Which is a shame as a nice hot drink would be welcome. There are well stocked vending machinesAll the staff who served us we polite and friendly. My biggest issue is the prices. At first glance on the website a family of 4 is £40. Which isn't overly cheap or expensive. But, then you have to add on skate hire. This is nearly £3 per person. So a family visit turns out to be £52.But then, if you have youngsters, you may need the push along penguins/polar bears for help. We usually get these when we do the Christmas pop up skating. But here they are £7.50 each. For two kids thats another £15. £67 in total. Then you may need a locker that costs £1. Non refundable. £68! This is very expensive and getting on for modern London pricing.Although there is no time limit on the skating, as a family thing to do with in experienced kids they are done in under two hours. So it's a very expensive trip.In out visit there was also a couple of pigeons that had found their way in the roof and were flying around. Speaking to a member of staff, it was well known. Not a great look. So, overall, a mixed bag. If you plan to skate on your own or a couple, it's not too bad. But for families, it's pretty expensive for what you get.

Took a 5 year old here skating. The place is very run down and there was a number of teenagers skating the wrong way, racing at speed, causing a dangerous situation. The staff seemed to have no control. They were quite young too so the group seemed to have no respect for them. A number of parents made the the staff aware but nothing seemed to happen. It was a massive £33.60!! I can’t see how such a price could be justified when even safety is a low priority.

I parked in the car park and paid for my ticket. The machine did not display my full number plate. I asked at reception if my ticket was valid and she told me it was. Now been hit with £100 fine. I called to get some evidence that I was using the ice rink and I still have the ticket with the first two letters of my number plate and was met with unhelpful we don't manage the parking. This happened to someone else who posted on facebook. The metres don't work. Planet ice should be looking into such complaints not ignoring them.

I go here weekly for skating lessons. Ice is decent most days but, considering patch is £10 per person and there's sometimes about 15 people on the ice, you'd think they'd have money to dedicate to more maintenance and updating the seating. Staff are normally friendly and pleasant

Went with my partner awhile back as i was teaching him how to skate for the first time. Staff were excellent and supported one individual who sprained herself on the ice. However, the cons to this planet ice is that there isn’t much regulation on where the crowd is going. There were some individuals (mostly teens and young kids) skating into people. In addition, the interior of the building felt a bit run down as though you just entered an abandoned building or a horror mansion.Compared to coventry’s ice rink, this particular rink feels less managed but i hope that can change in the future and maybe invest into make the rink a more eye-appealing interior.
