Staff there are always lovely and kind. some great deals there, I always go for some extra bits and pieces i need. Good for DIY, general house needs and bits and bobs you need

Unfortunately on Monday an aggressive customer came in to the shop who was incredibly intimidating to myself and the lady behind the counter. However, luckily the staff at Countdown were incredibly supportive and came to help right away. Representative Matt guided me out of the back exit of the shop while the Countdown staff calmly and professionally handled the situation with an aggressively angry customer. I was very shaken up and upset but luckily Matt helped me to calm down and waited with me until the angry customer had left the premises. Matt insisted that this was his first time of working there in 5 years that he'd seen such commotion. Matt stayed with me and helped me around the neighbouring co-op store while I gathered the rest of my shopping, because I was afraid of the volatile customer being outside the store upon exit. When my phone died as I was about to pay (my only payment method) Matt paid for my shopping for me and insisted that he didn't need anything in return, and willed me to go home safely.In short, absolutely exemplary customer service which genuinely looks out for their customers. Despite the angry man being aggressive, the staff members never shouted back at him from what I could tell and they handled the situation sensitively. Staff worked quickly to make sure I was alright and helped out of the store, working together to come up with a resolution to make me feel safe. I will remain a frequent customer in Countdown for as long as I live in Lincoln, and for as often as I visit. Wonderful and caring staff and brilliant prices. Couldn't thank the members on shift that day more. They really made me feel safe. Thank you.

Brilliant shop full of stuff you didn't know you needed, but now cannot live without. If they haven't got what you require they will order it!!

Great shop and friendly staff

This shop is a great little community asset. Their have a good range of household products at great prices, plus a DIY & garden section. If you need something for the home, well worth a look before trekking down town. The staff are always on hand, just tell them what you're looking for, & if they don't stock it, they'll point you in the right direction.I've always found the team very helpful, personable, & friendly.Great local shop.Many thanks to the team, always a pleasure shopping here!

Brilliant shop,has just about anything you need

An amazing shop that hides an extensive range of hardware and homeware in this deceptively large interior and external rear storage. A great place to rummage... I bet they even have forcandles!The staff are very helpful and friendly to.
