A great place, a nice atmosphere and above all we were very kind and looked after very well by Julia. The breakfast was a poem. Thank you Julia for the great stay you have prepared for us. Greetings Matthew.

Everyone in our group agreed that our stay at Rollestone Manor was excellent. Paula and Cyrille were brilliant hosts who made us feel very relaxed and were very attentive to our needs. The rooms and grounds blended old world charm and modern function very well. We had a wonderful evening meal and breakfast during our stay, both of which were cooked to perfection. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

We stayed at Rollestone the night before our early inner circle tour of Stonehenge. Rollestone Manor is a gem. If you like to avoid chain hotels or simply enjoy unique or historic stays, this is the place for you. From booking to departing, everything was simply lovely. It has the feel of stepping back a bit in time but with modern quality service and food! Even though we were exhausted from driving and late arriving (rail and tube strikes!), we immediately felt welcome. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge with drinks and dinner was simply flawless. Best meal so far of our trip. And we had to leave very early before breakfast and they packed us up 5 boxed breakfasts for the road!We had three rooms - Cardigan, Colonel, and Smith. All lovely and well suited for our needs. The views are gorgeous, the grounds are gorgeous, and everything was clean. Yes, it is an older historic building. Yes, it has squeaks and quirks and that made it all the more charming. And just because I saw it mentioned in a few other reviews - yes, they lock the front door overnight. But you are not trapped and there is staff member onsite lol. We had to leave early for our tour and had no problems unlocking the door to exit.I was traveling with my two teens, husband, and mom, and we all agreed we wished we had more time there. If we are ever back this way, I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Our second visit was as enjoyable as our first at Rollestone Manor. There were 7 adults at a family catch-up and we all had a lovely time. Once again the food at dinner was delicious, definitely a highlight of a stay here, make sure you book a table! Equally tasty was the breakfast too, all freshly cooked with plenty of tea, coffee and toast offered. Even though the building is quirky and obviously of an age the ensuite bathrooms are very clean and modern. Very much enjoyed our night here, you definitely feel welcomed when you stay here.

I don't understand the 5 star reviews. It is so terrible . We arrived for our 18th anniversary. My husband booked because everyone had given it 5 stars . In retrospect that seems rather strange. We have stayed at some amazing hotels biu actually it it rather hard to get 5 stars. The entry past a rather run down group of sheds , ok we though might be ok inside. We entered a rather odd reception area. The placed smelt of deep fried fat . It was really bad . We had booked dinner. I looked in , the restaurant was so shabby . I looked in the bar area which was tiny and might be able to seat maybe 8 people at a push . It had a lot of taxidermy then fluffy bunny art on the wall . It really was not a place for a relaxing glass of wine .I dread to think what the wine choices were . So the room . Well in honesty we did see a room that looked rather nice . However our room was awful! Dark dingy overlooking a modern extension of rooms. It was clean but tiny and depressing. I sat in the chair and wept. My husband was so upset , after the reviews he had expected more. He asked if we could change rooms even offerd to pay more . He was so distressed bless him. Told whole place booked to a wedding party that were due back at midnight . They had extended their curfew , Oh happy days . We left immediately. We were refused a refund , even part would have helped... then drove 2and a half hours home. We were so so sad .

We visited Rollestone Manor in July this year , our 1st visit .A warm welcome from the staff , up the steep stairs to or room.A large tidy room with roll top bath and four poster bed.We had dinner in the restaurant , a good choice at a reasonable cost , we ate there both nights of our stay. Breakfast was cooked just as I like it , with coffee , juice and toast to follow.Well worth a visit , with Stonehenge just down the road .

Quick stop off overnight, on way to the airport. Manager Julie was most helpful, and gave some good pointers to the history of the manor, the different rooms, food and drink choices. Parking was easy too ;-) We felt really welcome, the food very very good, the beds just right, the ambiance peaceful and low key. We’ll definitely find an excuse to stop here again one night.

Stayed the night before my sisters wedding. The owners were very friendly and polite. Room was fine, nice furnishings, bathroom was spacious with nice towels etc. In the morning we had to dash off due to a wedding issue, so we couldn't make breakfast. The owners kindly kept some bacon back and put it in a sandwich for us on our return. I think it was a shame we had to keep asking for glasses etc for the prosecco and mugs for tea so the hair and make up people could have something too , seeing as they knew they were here and the room only had a 2 mugs etc. But everything we asked was brought up so I do appreciate that. I would highly recommend the hotel and its in a lovely location.

A brilliant visit! We knew it was close to Stonehenge, but not THAT close - popped out the door and in under five minutes we were parked! Paula and Cyrille were consummate hosts: we were greeted warmly, had a lovely pre-dinner drink in the comfortable parlor, and a wonderful meal. Our room was quaint, spacious, quiet, and homey - and to imagine all that has occurred there in 7-800 years is quite amazing. We loved our stay and hope to return to see all the things we missed on our first sojourn!
