BAO Battersea
Walked by the place multiple times intrigued by the creative interior and aesthetic and finally peaked in for a meal. While the quality of food was excellent, the portions for the price were way too small and if you’d like to have a full meal here, you ought to order a lot.Other than that, we really enjoyed our time - the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious.

Excellent dishes, all cooked beautifully and deliciously moreish. Definitely recommend this branch of BAO.One area that could be improved is the hot tea could be more generous, it was served in a teensy pot and the cup was a bit bigger than a thimble. We felt more value could be provided at £4 for the pot.

First time at a BAO restaurant. When you first enter the restaurant you are greeted with a wonderful atmosphere, the staff and waiters were all fantastic as well. The food was amazing, but what really stood out to us was the Taiwanese Fried Chicken with the hot sauce, crispy, tender and juicy and the sauce complimented it extremely well. We, also ordered the Pulled Beef BAO and the “Rich” beef noodle soup all of which were fantastic.

My first visit to BAO in the UK but I am familiar with these Taiwan dishes. So my comparison will be benchmarked against what you’d likely to find the similar in Taipei.Firstly the food standards are uniformly high albeit somewhat less spicy than I would have expected, likely to cater to the local market towards Asian spicy foods. Having said that I still enjoy a lot of especially the BAOs (no picture but I had the Classic) and noodles. Most of these could be categorized as small bites finger food that you find in Taipei night market. Except the noodles they could all be consumed on the go. That’s what they are meant to be, which lead to my final point on the pricing. Are the foods tasty ? Yes but they are priced inappropriately for what they are. Bringing foods that belong to a night market inside a restaurant made the experience somewhat odd. BAO didn’t get a 5 star from me because of a wrong delivery of an otherwise very good street food.

The food was delicious! Stand out item was the soy glazed aubergine. Really cute little bistro with great food. Service was good too. Like other reviewers have said the portions are small and it’s a little pricey but this is London and in a high end mall so what do you expect?I’ll definitely go again!

I only had 2 baos. One savory, one dessert. Both vegetarian. My favourite was the ice cream one! The tofu one was OK.It was the first time I had a bao in the form of a burger.Would come back and try other branches.

Food was way too sweet and therefore very much one taste, the best thing were the dumplings in chili oil and the beer, the rest so not worth it unfortunately. The place is nice and very quick service but would not recommend unfortunately.

Lovely bao & noodle spot on the top floor of Battersea power station. What's great is that you can order in the Arcade food hall or you can sit in the restaurant section where it's more quiet. The staff was very attentive and helpful when choosing dishes. The soy glazed aubergine was so delicious. The noodle portion is not too large so you best get a bao bun as well - you're not gonna regret it!
