Best to get here early to catch all their vegan items before they sell out. From the last time I was here they've added a few more items to their vegan range icluding a savoury cheese" roll. Best croissants in the east end!"

Brown sourdough tasted good, and toasted nicely,but quite dense. It's almost like the gluten has not fully developed, or dough not fully hydrated. There is sometime up which makes the loaf I had not quite a hit. Plaited buns also dense - a bit disappointing and for me a two star. A nice local bakery, but competition is strong and I prefer the bread for some other bakeries in the area.Though to be fair, only tried 2 items and only once..

I would just like to give the young gentleman who works. There is one off the best members of staff in a coffee shop I have ever been served by so polite, caring, and helpful.

So lucky to live just around the corner from this gem. Friendly service, unique flavors, and filling sandwiches (my favourite!). Daniel recently made a birthday cake at my request for a friend and although it was very last minute, the cake turned out exactly as I had wanted it -- beautiful, moist, and delicious. Could not recommend this place enough.

I rarely leave low star reviews especially for independent businesses but I experienced terrible customer service at Charles Artisan Bread today. I’ve been here before and the pastries and service is usually really good. The server working today was rude to the customer in-front of me, myself and the person after, rolling her eyes like questions were a huge demand for her. I asked what one of the pastries was that had ham in and she patronisingly replied ‘it’s a pastry with ham in’.There are so many independent bakeries in the area, I’ll be frequenting those who don’t have such rude front of house staff.

My partner and I come here all the time! They have a great selection of vegan pastries like croissants (which they also heat up for you if you want!) as well as super tasty vegan sandwiches sometimes and different focaccias! The coffee is also tasty and the service very friendly!Unfortunately not a lot of space for seats.

DisappointingThey told me the bread here is all sourdough - it's nice enough but doesn't have the taste and texture of 'proper' sourdough. You might as well buy sourdough, or indeed any white loaf, from a supermarket.Kids told me they really liked the brownies. I bought a cinnamon bun and a cardamom & custard bun, the dough for both was dry, it didn't feel like a treat

I love the pastry and bread, it's very refreshing. The coffee is very delicious and the staff members are very friendly. The service are great specially Farishi is very friendly.

My first time ordering to pick up here and I won’t be returning.Normally when a customer arrives to collect an order in any establishment they are asked for a code, name etc.i arrived and said I was here to collect and before id had a chance to offer the code I was interrupted with an abrupt ‘for?? Bread?’ As if I’d asked the most stupid thing. If you’re going to charge three times the supermarket price for a loaf of sourdough at least ensure your staff members know how to provide a decent service especially for first time customers.Response to owner: The cost of the loaf was not the issue, I do not need that explained to me. The point is if I am choosing to spend three times the amount of supermarket sourdough it is not unreasonable to expect a pleasant service instead of being treated like a burden as is apparent in some other low reviews here….

10/10 I come here with my dog at least 4 times a week. Super friendly staff. Great food, and the price is amazing compared to the nearby places! Lots of space to sit and enjoy a great pastry (tonne of vegan options too)
