Impressive viaduct to visit, you can walk under and around the huge supports and investigate the WWII invasion defences.

We had a lovely, sunny afternoon here, we enjoyed the view and had a walk in the nature.

Visited this railway landmark after seeing the viaduct on TV. Wasn’t disappointed as it’s a lovely structure to see up close. Brick built and with internal arches to each pier. You can walk most of the Sian and both sides. There are 32 arches spanning the Colne River Valley. The Historic Railway Station at Chappel is just a short walk away. Unfortunately I didn’t visit the Railway Station at the time of my visit to the Viaduct. There are WW2 gun emplacements to see there and what I believe are tank defences which are concrete square blocks. A children’s play park and car parking very close plus the added benefit of a lovely country pub.

I love Chappel Viaduct the area and the park is lovely. My daughter has grown her confidence so much since visiting here regularly certain things she couldn't do before like climb the slides herself and have confidence to go and try more things she's done thanks to Chappel Viaduct just a lovely atmosphere and always kept nice and tidy, and free parking which is a bonus.

Stopped to get a closer look of the viaduct, which is impressive. Definitely worth a quick stop and short walk. Nice little walk alongside, with a pillbox along route. Also short circular boardwalk following the river which comes out into a big open field. Cool playground for the kids beside it too.
