Superb guest house on seafront adjoining an excellent Italian restaurant. Private parking for guests. Only stairs to upper levels. Staff super friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the price. Ideal for a getaway.

Had a lovely Christmas Meal on Christmas Eve. Really great Italian food worthy of a London specialty Italian with proper friendly Italian service. Also had a great Welsh breakfast and cappuccino. Apparently take away pizza is the best around here too which I could believe. Well recommend if in Pembrokeshire followed by a walk on the Beach.

Best coffee in the area! We stayed for just one night and the coffee in the morning was sublime. Thank you!

Mostly positives:+ Lovely comfortable room with great sea view+ Really friendly, lovely waiting staff+ Amazing fresh fruit salad every morningCouple of 'could do betters':+ View would be better with cleaner windows (not easy near the sea, I know)+ Would expect shampoo to be provided as well as body wash+ Breakfast chef could put a little love into the presentation of cooked breakfasts. Can this be the same person who makes the stunning fruit salads?

Guesthouse has had some considerable development done to it and whilst it was good before, the new investment is all for the better since the new owner has taken over. Wonderful all around. Sunshine Italian is the restaurant and it’s brilliant.

Best choice for the area, we thought.Comfortable and enough space.Showering without getting water on the mat was a trial, as the shower enclosure was small and curtain not effective. Not sparkling clean but good enough.Super friendly staff that made all the difference to our stay.Parking for 10 cars around the back of the hotel.Strongly recommend!

Our room was literally in the restaurant, the noise was unbelievable (room no.3) don't take this room, really shouldn't be allowed.

Clean, bright, comfortable room, staff helped us with an early check in and kept our bikes safe for us so we could go our for a very memorable afternoon coastal walk. Then this morning we met Helen, the proprietress. What a lovely person! Despite her own personal preferences, the breakfast sausages are local and the coffee is excellent quality. All the other touches made it the best breakfast of this holiday. Thanks so much!

We booked a room at the hotel on Booking's website, on the website the room is called a deluxe" room and according to the pictures you can think it has a sea view. In practice

We (a family of 6) arrived at the Anchor Guest House around 7pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Upon arriving, we sat outside on a free table (which there were many). After 5/10 minutes, I went to the bar to find out if it was table or bar service. They explained that it was table service, gave me some menus and said that someone would be out to take our order soon. Got back to the table, had everyone choose their orders, then waited a further 20/30 minutes to be ignored by all waiters.Eventually, a lovely young waiter came out and told us that the restaurant couldn’t take food orders until 9pm BUT they could take our drink order, which was obviously pointless when we’d have to wait another hour and a half to just *order* food. We politely declined to order drinks and went to The Ocean Bar next door who managed to accommodate us although they were very busy.I don’t often leave bad reviews however, the fact that we were ignored for a long time then a very apologetic young man had to come out and explain the situation with no management in sight, it’s just unprofessional and poor management. If the kitchen staff is overwhelmed, customers should be informed straight away instead of sat waiting. Plus, given the location and time of year, better measures should be in place to ensure staff aren’t overwhelmed. On a positive note… The staff did seem lovely regardless of their obvious stress, and the location truly is beautiful.Hopefully management can get some better practices in place so that customers aren’t left feeling silly, and staff aren’t feeling uncomfortable turning customers away.
