Thornborough Bridge
A lovely piece of history tucked away in middle England. Sadly, there are no photos due to torrential rain on the day.

This is a beautiful place. Historic medieval bridge in an idyllic river setting with spacious carpark and picnic tables in woodland environment.A perfect place to start a walk across the fields or just admire the peaceful setting while taking a travel break. However, it is totally ruined by large quantities of rubbish being dumped by uncaring individuals over a long period (has the council abandoned caring for this site?) along with evidence of illegal camping...discarded tents etc.The presence of costly CCTV appears to be a pointless wasted of resources unless one can use them to catch the culprits and make them clear up their own mess.2 stars deducted from what should be 5* plus.

Fantastic bit of history, traveled 1hr to visit. Often past on the main road and admired but never had chance to stop. Took the family and played pooh sticks.Picnic benches and walking routes.

Beautiful old bridge, car park needs clearing of rubbish and pot holes filling though.

Really nice little picnic area. The bridge is circa 14th century and there is a really informative sign telling you all about the area. Burial grounds an roman artifacts have been found.

I love to stop here for a break on my cross country drive. The medieval bridge is beautiful as are the meadows, especially when full of spring flowers. Walk up to the ancient burial mounds for a leg stretch.

Love this medieval bridge but if the council isn't careful it'll get lost to history. Needs some protection and some love and care. So does the nearby picnic area. Can't believe I didn't take a photo!

Great place to start a walk from, but the car park is a mess full of litter with a little work this place could be made so much better.
