Rede House - Student Accommodation Middlesbrough
When my daughter arrived the flat was not the specification she had booked. On top of that it was filthy. Not being the most confident person, my daughter was very tearful about all this. The staff were kind and looked after her while she waited for documents to be completed. They became more motivated to sort out issues when I, a very protective parent, arrived and firmly took control of the situation. While the rooms are big, the finish leaves much to be desired.Rooms are owned by different landlords, hers was uncooperative, refusing to replace a worn out and extremely uncomfortable mattress. The bathroom is old, shabby and falling to bits. The oven has one temperature - mega hot.The whole building is constantly ridiculously hot, even in winter. The common rooms are always messy and dirty. Security is rubbish, the cinema room was trashed multiple times during her 1 year residency. Not the worst place, but definitely not the best

I've been ripped off. so my wall is falling apart from the storms as the water came through the windows and expensive possessions wrecked, i've been spoken too like I don't know my right and the law. we all went without hot water for the first 3 weeks and some days with out any water at all. also i have been threatened by intruders and was told i should have been upstairs with my door locked. whats the common room for right? and friends have had glass bottles thrown it them. The company where aware that break ins where happening due low quality doors but didn't change them for 2 years. Soo much more I could add. Just not worth the £5800 a year.

Best part of this accom is that it is relatively cheap and in the heart of Middlesbrough. Sadly the prices have been going up each year since COVID however I would still say this place is good value for money. The internet is good and I have never had any issues (I play a lot of games and I can't recall ever disconnecting due to poor internet). The staff here are super friendly and any maintenance issues you have will be fixed quickly.Biggest downside is how hot it can get inside the rooms during summer and how the windows are designed makes it so very little air gets into the rooms unless it's windy. Would be much better with different windows that opened more.

I am living in Rede House from last two years now. rede house has spacious rooms at fair prices, as well as the professional staff. Any maintenance concerns are promptly and efficiently resolved by Neil, and Nicci's warm and helpful attitude makes her a pleasure to interact with. Additionally, Garry does an outstanding job of keeping the communal areas impeccably clean. In summary, Rede House has been an excellent accommodation experience for me and if you are looking for a safe, affordable and convenient accommodation. Rede house is a good choice.

No working appliances when moved in. Waited 4 weeks for an oven new stove top (that the previous client broke and ordered in July still hadn’t been dealt with) and extraction fan. Several several break ins due to slow timing motion door - I know it is ideal for moving belongings in but coming home alone after a night out can be dangerous. Homeless people sit outside the building too asking for money and cigarettes. The windows have a double back tint to obviously not show a public view of yourself however it gives the room a dark and grey mood so depressing. Fire alarms go off at least once a week for 45 minutes.which leads to standing outside in the winter waiting for several fire trucks to turn up with there being no fire. Several tatty designs to the room. Carpet was 2 inches short under the radiator. Bathroom floor severely stained and old painting not even covered up in the edges of the walls and behind the radiator. The only thing to praise is the out of hours telephone line are great and come down straight away. But interior staff 9-5 are not the best attentive

Loved my flat. Spacious, modern and had all I needed. Location is good too, as it's only a 5 min walk to uni, and even less to the main shopping street etc.My main issue was being on 1st floor and facing Corporation Rd - the noise from people leaving night clubs and bars between midnight-3.30am did wake me up quite a few times. Apart from that, I loved my stay. Whenever I had an issue or something broke that was usually fixed fairly quickly. The cinema room can be a bit tricky to figure out in regards to wires and all, plus we had some issues with the front door not closing properly (sometimes due to residents, sometimes the actual door) - but we had some fun nights despite all that. It's a bit pricey compared to other accommodations, but I personally think it was worth it

Cheap studio uni accommodation. However constantly getting broken into because the front door is motion censored and doesn’t shut for 10 seconds after it opens. Homeless people sit in the door way which can make it scary when returning to your home late at night, between January- May approximately 5 break ins, sometimes they’d get into the cinema room and smash the place up, sometimes they would try to get in other doors by smashing them or cutting the wood. Even when you’re in your flat it doesn’t particularly feel safe, also no peep holes which would make students feel safer in their homes. Fire alarm goes off once a week which then means standing outside in ur dressing gown while it’s winter. Also empire nightclub across the road is very noisy until early hours of the morning. The road it’s self is extremely noisy up until 4/5am with boy racers with loud exhaust showing off.

Staff are very nice and friendly especially the care taker and cleaner, they will go out their way to make sure you're sorted. The beds are hit and miss, but yourself a topper or ask for a new mattress. The gym was very limited and kept on breaking due to people not having proper inductions. The cinema room is okay it takes a lot of figuring out for wires and that when you have a social. Its 5 minutes from uni and even closer to the main shopping areas, the road outside is very noisy however and there have been a few accidents. The security of the building is all right, no security guard on site and you're relying on the student reps; which can be questionable at times. In addition, the magnetic locking door breaks occasionally so you have to close the door properly to ensure security. The accommodation is okay for its price and 44 weeks is okay. However, with all accommodations you have to be wary with the state you accept the room when you start your tenancy and take pictures of everything, so you get your full deposit back.Overall it's a okay accommodation to stay in your 2nd and 3rd year of uni. Always stay in uni halls 1st year or you'll isolate yourself.
