Me and my partner decided to visit The Turf very last minute purely due to the location and lovely scenic route we could take by foot. We ordered two roast pork Sunday dinners and the food, service and location was impeccable.The staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were accommodated.Plenty of seating and the atmosphere was relaxed.We will definitely be returning and this is one of the best roasts we have ever had! Especially the potatoes!

Paddled to the pub for the first time and it was one of our best days paddling yet!The staff we spoke to were lovely. A man who greeted us as we arrived on our board, letting us know what’s best to do with the boards and then two women, one at the bar and one at the hatch, we’re so lovely when we ordered food and drink. Our visit was perfect and we will be counting the days until we are back. Thank you for one of the best days!

My husband and I walked to The Turk from Countesswear. It was a lovely walk and the scenery at the Turf is beautiful. We sat outside for a drink to enjoy the view. The atmosphere in The Turf was lovely, staff are always friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful pub and a lovely place to sit with friends. Highly recommended.

Very friendly reception and super lunch. Delicious soup and toastie. St Austell Tribute Pale Ale the works. The geographical situation is unique - at the end of the Exeter ship canal with a few dozen yachts moored outside and NO CARS! It's 16 minutes walk from the car park at the end of Station road Exminster. The building appears to be 18th century and the interior is utterly charming. See photos

We've been cycling here for over 40 years and when Clive and Jinny sold to a 'local' we hoped it would remain characterfull!.We finally managed to pop in and were greeted warmly by Mark, a proper pint of Jail Ale and a very interesting menu.Cue food order. My wife had a delicious garlic portobello mushroom with ratatouille and goats cheese main and I chose the smoked haddock poached egg spinach starter which was spot on! We gave some feedback to Mark about the main course seeming a bit small and didn't expect anything in return but he came back to us and told us the chef was very sorry but they had sent out a starter size and he would be happy to serve that again free or let us choose a dessert on the house!What a great team at The Turf!

Visited on a rather wet day late in the day. The pub was pretty empty but us dreary cyclists were warmly welcomed by the staff and a friendly dog! Warmed up with some great beer next to a roaring fire. Very grateful they remained open. Very unique place and well worth a visit.

It was my first time there, what a location- not the easiest road to gain access, but well worth it, beautiful location and a nice welcome- just had a drink and enjoyed the view.
