Poor service. Poor food. Poor experience.Waited a long time at the bar to be served despite it being quiet on a mid afternoon. Limited food options as a lot of items on the menu we were told were unavailable. Bar staff seemed inexperienced and didn’t seem to know how to use the system efficiently making being served even slower.4 of us on a table and took 45 minutes for the food to come with each of our food coming out at different times. Ordered peri peri chicken. The chips were cold and sweetcorn was black burnt so sent the food back. Food was left on our table for over an hour once we had finished.

£7.40 for a pint of Kaleidoscope. The pub wasn't busy. It's such a shame. The place is great. I'd happily come here, but the price just isn't sensible. Staff were friendly.

Me and my partner visited the Birkett tap on a busy winter Saturday, we enjoyed the 2-4-1 cocktails, she enjoyed a couple of tutti frutti and I had the passionfruit power which was delicious.

A decent city centre pub - not sure what people expect (looking at other reviews) but we found everything to be as expected. Decent food and a range of beers and ciders and the staff were attentive (we were served a couple of times by a guy called Jude who was great). Went to watch the football and rugby and would go again.

Love this place have been coming here for years. Great atmosphere and great to watch the sports. Only downside was half of the menu was unavailable!

Food= good, small portionsAtmosphere= great live music, relaxed feelingService= -5 stars! A terrible experience! We had to wait 10 minutes in between each meal being served, and then a further 40 minutes for the last 2 meals for our table which came out both incorrect. Staff gave no apologies, we had to move our own tables together despite booking ahead. No concern or care for our welfare. No cutlery, no condiments, no salt and pepper. For a 21st birthday celebration, this was horrendous!

Thank you so much to Dan for making the group feel so welcome and making the experience enjoyable. I celebrated my birthday here and was welcomed with a lovely sign when the table was reserved. Will be coming here again to celebrate occasions as well as casual outings. Thank you Dan!
