I feel this is a crooked and completely untrustworthy mechanics, all I can say is beware of being over charged, make sure you get everything in writing. Buyer beware!I called Alan for a quote on servicing my vehicle. I received 2 quotes and elected to go forward with the work based on the slightly more expensive full service option. During the work Alan called and asked if I would like the spark plugs changed to which he quoted for the most expensive plugs money could buy as this vehicle used in this make of vehicle, (platinum coated plugs) and also new rear break pads on one wheel only. So naturally I agreed to go forward with the additional work and the extra amount on the final invoice.When Alan completed the work he called to say that he did not need to install the platinum plugs as the car had regular plugs so he saved money and the car was ready.However, this is where the BS began. The final invoice suddenly was double the original quote just because of the spark plugs and breaks, so I asked Alan to go over the costs piece by piece. The response was one of curtness, agitation and claiming that he had been in business for XX years and would not rip anyone off. But when I pointed out that his math did not add up, Alan went away to recalculate. After an hour or so Alan called back saying he had made a miscalculation and to come and collect the car.When I went to collect the car I was met with an extremely rude Alan saying ‘do not bring your car back here again’. All because I questioned what was rightfully being over charged.Not on Alan’s own advice but of my own accord I will not ever take my car, or recommend his services to anyone. Im my opinion there are much better and more trustworthy mechanics out there.

I always try and find a good, trustworthy mechanic and keep him as long as I can but after moving back from many years overseas struggled to find one here in the UK. I had the car MOTed next door and they told me about Alan's Autos.Alan is not just a mechanic but also an artist. I have seen him working on everything from Porsches to Range Rovers and everything in between. If they don't make the parts anymore for an exotic classic then he will make one. A real old school mechanic but with all the gear too.If you have a nice car but would rather not pay main dealer prices for out of warranty work then Alan is the perfect solution.Over the years I have sent many of my friends to him and have been pleased to do so as have they. Hopefully he'll continue to carry on the good work for many years to come.
