Friendly and helpful with lots of staff. I'm only a DIYer who'd never shopped there before, but everyone I spoke to was happy to help. The plywood I bought is a bit scrappy on one side, but I think that's just the grade I chose. Nothing a bit of filler won't sort out.

Dean in kitchens was excellent. Helped me design my island and arranged it all to be delivered with minimal effort from me (ideal!). No pressure with quotes and suggestions, felt he genuinely wanted me to get the right thing for my kitchen, even if it meant I didnt get everything there. Will go back if I need other things for my kitchen.

Very big showroom with some good displays of wood and vinyl flooring

Just purchased some building sand and cement, loaded to the van and paid in the sales counter. Was charged nearly £10 for the cement and £5 for the sand. Twice as much as Wickes or any other builder merchant. I m a builder by trade for 20 years, never been charged this bad ever before. Won't put my foot again to this store.

My first visit today for simple lengths of treated timber for a diy project. Initial service from the office desk was trouble free. However, the staff member I met to help find my desired timber was simply lacking in the concept of customer service. When I stated the timber I was looking for the staff member bluntly stated the timber was not stocked. Not out of stock at present or at this particular branch, just not stocked. I explained that I had found the timber on the company’s website, hence making my journey. The staff member replied, ‘I don’t look at the website’. I attempted to request the staff member assist me find the timber, but to the staff member replied, ‘if you want to complain, go speak with the office staff’. I made no suggestion of wanting to complain and neither did my language suggest this.The service, or lack of, is quite shocking. I was treated as an inconvenience, without respect or the most basic courtesy towards a customer. No surprise I left without making a purchase. I found a competitor that understood how to treat customers.

I have used Buildbase Oxford a few times the past month, for equipment hire, buying sand, slate etc and the service every time has been fantastic. The staff in the store have been very helpful and the delivery drivers have been great. I would recommend anyone to use them and I will in the future.
