A real let down with after sales customer service. We bough a little mini convertible which on day one let us down...the battery was flat. I called up and Darren said that they would pay for a new battery and I told him that it was booked in with BMW Mini that afternoon to have the battery replaced. When in there, BMW discovered that there was 3 leaks and a serious tensioner belt problem, their estimate was over £800. They also couldn't understand why one of the problems wasn't even listed as the an advisory on the MOT provided having been done the day before. When my husband called Darren he basically said he was not prepared to pay that and to just bring the car back and he would refund us the purchase price of the car but not the price of the battery as he could have put a cheaper one on there. I suppose his plan was just to sell the problem onto someone else. We had insured the car, taxed the car, filled it with petrol and put a new battery on and the reaction from them was just tough. So we decided to keep the car and pay for the work ourselves as the mileage was very low on it....the 3 month 'warranty' isn't worth the paper it's written on. Buyer beware is very true regarding this company...such a shame

Very impressed with the customer attitude from Essex Trade Cars - nothing too much trouble from both Nigel and Darren. They went to some lenghts to make sure the Jaguar XK I recently purchased was in great shape. I would be pleased to use them again next time I'm looking to buy a car - honest people looking to provide a great service.

I had bought another car from a different used car dealership and had to return it (long story) so I was a bit anxious about buying another used vehicle. I needn’t have worried. Darren was really helpful - he even went the extra mile by giving me help and advice about getting my money back from the other garage. I’m now the (very) proud owner of a fabulous car that I got for a very fair price. The car came with a year’s MOT and service, a full AA check and Darren even made sure I had spare fuel in the tank. I’d have absolutely no hesitation recommending Essex Trade Cars.

Great guys, great service. Collected me from the station and could not have been more helpful. Battery died a few days after purchase; replaced with no issues. Even offered me a loan car if my timetable could not be met, however there was no need for this. They also managed to arrange an immediate visit to another garage when the first one could not access the computer on the car. Very satisfied with all aspects of my dealings with them.

Just bought a lovey looking white VW Tiguan R Line, a few minor imperfections wasn't an issue for them, at no extra cost all sorted before collection. I travelled from Aberdeen to get a very low mileage small car for my daughter. It was so keenly priced I phoned and spoke to Darren. He assured me that the car was in very good and nothing hidden. Travelling there was remarkably easy. Flight, DLR and train to Chelmsford. Darren even picked me up from the station. When I got there I found the car absolutely as described. It had been serviced and was ready to drive away. A long drive home, but only a small tank of petrol. Easy value for money purchase with good service. Highly recommended, bought a car for my sister having been let down by another dealer.
