Wienerberger Ltd

My name is Richard Jones and I am a small builder from the Wirral. I bought engineering bricks which are manufactured by Wienerburger to build a dwalf wall for a conservatory. The day after the bricks were laid the face surfaces of the bricks started to blow small round pieces of the brick off all over the walls. The wall looks terrible. I have been told that this is due to to much lime in the brick and when the brick absorbs water the lime expands and pushes the brick face off. I was then told that Weinerberger would send out people to drill out the lime and patch up the holes! I was told that over the next 10 days more holes will appear so I should wait to see how bad it will get. I pointed out that I bought bricks the should be fit for the job and I would not accept drilling the lime out and filling the holes with filler. I've now been told that Weinerberger will do nothing about the problem. I have customers who are very upset with the problem and have requested that I knock the wall down and start again. I have no choice in this matter but Wienerberger need to step up and do something about this problem. I will be taking this matter as far as it takes as faulty materials should not be sold to anyone. So far Wienerberger have shown that they have no interest in after sales service. Don't buy Wienerberger bricks they are rubbish. Richard Jones
