You would have to be unbelievably hard hearted and without feelings not to be touched by this lovely memorial to the Animals who served the British people and their Allies over the centuries. This in a small way is a fitting tribute to their memory. Well worth a visit and some contemplation.

It's a small memorial built at the median on the busy Park Lane of CBD London. Every animal is credited for their participation in various wars led by the British. This is right opposite Bollywood king SRK's house.

Nice that the animals that served their servicemen in WW2 have been given their own memorial. Not far from Marble Arch on Park Lane this memorial includes some nice stone work and statues or the animals used in conflict. Nicely done.

Gorgeous monument commemorating the sacrifice of animals, large and small, employed by British and Commonwealth forces during the Great War.The memorial is situated on a traffic island to the North-East of Hyde Park, not too far from Marble Arch and Speaker's Corner. Sadly ignored by the majority of people who walk past it, it is a stunning work of art that deserves to be appreciated by us all.

Animals In War Memorial
This Animal War Memorial was designed by English sculptor David Backhouse. There were countless of animals that have served and died under Bristish military command in the war, the memorial is so meaningful and they also part of the creatures on the earth.

Animals In War Memorial
A panoramic depiction incorporating a massive curved Portland stone wall, two pack-mules, a horse and dog, in single file - (all volunteers) contributing their bit to war.Located near Brook Gate on the central reservation between Park Lane and Hyde Park.Attributed to David Backhouse in 2004.Heartfelt, monumental kitsch partly financed by public contribution.Respecting and commemorating all animals killed in wartime. There be no dearth of statues, monuments, arches, fountains and distractions in the Hyde Park precinct: this memorial a commendable diversion.

Moving tribute to animals that have served, suffered and died in wars: Horses, donkeys, mules and camels carried food, water, ammunition and medical supplies to men at the front, and dogs and pigeons carried messages. Canaries were used to detect poisonous gas, and cats and dogs were trained to hunt rats in the trenches.

This monument is a powerful and moving tribute to all the animals that served, suffered and died alongside the British, Commonwealth and Allied forces in the wars and conflicts of the 20th century.constructed in Portland stone and cast bronze, 58ftwide and 55ft deep, the memorial has a strong visual impact, both from distant and close views.
