Freedom Treks

Paid for my trip in full to secure my spot on a date moved twice on me to find out the date I paid for wasn’t even available (refund is pending). Avoid this company. I have to cancel my entire trip now.

We went on the Algarve Cycling holiday last week. It was fabulous - gentle tracks by the sea, great accommodation and all the logistics worked out perfectly. Freedom Treks were excellent at responding quickly to queries, checking details, advising and organising the holiday for us. Highly recommended!

The Northern Coast of Spain with its temperate weather, breathtaking views, myriad beaches, quiet roads, thoughtful drivers, fresh seafood and friendly people was beyond my expectations in every way! I have done several tours with Freedon Treks and have loved the unique experience of each. We arrived a day early to explore the towns of Guernica and Bilbao. Freedon Treks was so accomodating about picking us up in Bilbao rather than the airport. They gave us a central meeting place and were there promptly. We headed off to settle into our first accomodation - the sweetest restrored farmhouse overlooking the tiny village of Santillana. Ignacio, our local guide gave us an informative briefing, complete with daily route options including mileage and elevation gain - important information given the hilly terrain- and sites to see. This was the first tour I have been on with Freedom Treks where we stayed two nights in three of the hotels and had rest day options. I loved this element of the tour! We took advantage of some scenic rides - many were along parts of the Camino de Santiago- to explore the area and were hoping to hike the Cares Gorge one day but the weather was not ideal for the terrain and views. Instead we booked a spa afternoon at La Hacienda de Don Juan in Llanes. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch, got a massage and 90 minutes of water therapy- so restorative! Other members of the group tackled an optional ride with 5000 feet of elevation gain! Personalization is a key component to this tour. The North Coast of Spain has something for everyone and this particular tour differentiates so each person gets they need and so much more! I can't wait to book my next tour!

We had a great holiday through Freedom Treks. Wanted a cycling point to point holiday but because of Covid we were restricted to doing trips based from one city. It was so much better, no packing each morning and we really got to know the hotel staff. Based in the stunning city of Amboise in the Loire we had 5 great days of cycling, a great hotel and 2 fabulous restaurants booked by Freedom Treks as part of the package. The bikes were great and all the route information (printed and Apps) were excellent. Routes were chosen to be away from cars (most of the time) and as far as possible down hill on the way home. We could not recommend more. Andy was our consultant and he was first class.

We loved our Biking in Northern Spain trip! By day 5 we were already looking to book something for next year!Here are the details of our wonderful experience:-The hotels were excellent--clean, comfortable and centrally located. Breakfast at each was great and very filling before a day of riding. I wish we could have stayed at least 2 nights at all of them!-The map app with the trip routes was so helpful and worked even without cell service/wifi. The paper descriptions of each route were actuate and really helped us decide where to go each day.-Our local contacts who helped us with bikes and bags and transportation were knowledgeable, fun and punctual.-The most important part: the biking! Every view was better than the last. We were rarely on busy roads and when we were, cars were respectful of riders. Some of the climbs were tough, but all were doable (some in our group were grateful for the e-bikes). We went through very varied terrains--adorable small villages, winding mountain roads, energetic beach towns.Booking was also easy. I made many changes (changing bikes, adding people) and everyone I spoke to was great.

Amazing team! They are really helpful, they have excellent knowledge and have great suggestions to create an individual adventure. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

We have used Freedom Treks services for three European bike trips. Our fourth was deferred due to COVID. FT worked with us to accommodate the changing situation of travel, going far beyond their obligation to us. Although it further deepened our sense of gratitude, it is reflective of the excellent and responsive service we have received from our first contact with them.Catherine, along with Saul and Andy have made us feel like we are in good hands. Each is personable, informed, helpful and patient.We have recommended Freedom Treks right from the start and will continue to do so. We had the most amazing 10 days cycling down the Danube from Passau to Vienna. The route is really relaxed and easy to follow and it is a very pretty part of Europe. Hospitality along the way was top-notch. The scenery was often spectacular and having the mighty Danube by our side the entire trip, was really very special. I would HIGHLY recommend this trip to families as well as parties that want to holiday and cycle at the same time. A big thanks to the Freedom Treks team.

I cant recommend Freedom Treks enough for their customer service and holidays. They had to change our holiday plans 3 times due to the pandemic and they were so helpful and informative every time with no extra costs!When we eventually got to go on the holiday the hotel was immaculate and clean, the bikes brand new and the routes were interesting and all so very different.Will def be booking again. This was our second holiday with them and both times they have been great

Just back from the Leisurely Umbria tour, we had a great time. We have been on a lot of trips now with Freedom Treks, first as a couple, then our first child and we have now done two as a family of four. We love the tours and know the Freedom Treks family well as they have helped us organise and plan tours, finding what ones will be suitable for us and working to adapt tours for various reasons including pregnancy or put more than one together.
