Sovereign Newbank - Student Accommodation Sheffield

Sovereign House is a hidden gem! I currently stay in a spacious studio apartment and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The room provides a stunning view of the city.Many of my university friends live in the same building. It's a comfortable accommodation for working professionals or students looking for a cost-effective stay.I must give Siobhan (Xenia) a special shoutout for her outstanding service during the application process. Throughout the entire process, she was efficient and professional.

This will be my third year staying with Xenia Students - by far one of the best student accommodations in Sheffield I’ve come across.Throughout my stay all the staff members have been extremely approachable, helpful, and punctual with my inquiries and requests for repairs.As it may have already been mentioned, the location is also advantageous and, in my opinion, strikes the golden balance between the distance to the city centre and the university buildings. Facilities and rooms are well-equipped & are comfortable, to say the least.Would definitely recommend and thank you, Xenia, for making my stay a very enjoyable experience (with a special thanks to Liam Fairest!)

Having previously lived at Chapel House Apartments, I am pleased with the living experience at Sovereign House. Comparing Sovereign House with Chapel House Apartments, the former offers better service.My sincere thanks go out to Siobhan Rogers from Xenia, who provided extraordinary service throughout the process.

I’ve been here for 7 months. It’s been OK except for the occasional firm alarms going but that seems to have been sorted now. Recently noticed security at the reception. That’s a great improvement too. My room (superior room) has no issues. So far so good, it’s not been outstanding but it’s not horrible either. I see the effort been made to improve. It’s an OK place to stay in the city Centre.

I would have given one star (or none)previously as management were useless (accounts still are slow in responding and are poor communicators) but the new accommodation manger, Siobahn, has really impressed me. She really seems to care about doing a good job and improving things for all. She hascommunicated well with me, followed up on my requests and made a point of keeping me up to date. If things continue like this, I believe she will turn things around. Thanks, Siobahn!

Strategic location, easy access to public transport and all necessary shops. However the apartment utilising access card system without 24hr on site team, I had my access card not working twice, it was after work hour so I need call emergency line and wait for sub-contracted security to attend. Shortest waiting period for the security team to arrive was 1.5 hours because they are not coming from Sheffield. Washing machine and dryer are available in the building but need to pay.

The location is great especially during this online courses period, very close to M&S, co-op, wilko etc. The living condition is good as well, worth beyond the price in my opinion. And stuffs are very kind. Living in the south-facing higher floor can enjoy a lot of sunshine ☀️

A COMPLETE NO-NO. Worst customer service ever received. Please do no ever contact “Remy” from Urban Evolution. She takes weeks to respond to email. She told us to pay the holding deposit before even helping us with all our queries. Once we paid the holding deposit, I was not being contacted. We got the worst customer service. Really unhappy and disappointed. I have proof of mails which we sent them (we were 2 people who were going to live here). They didn’t help us with the viewing and nor did they answer any queries after getting the holding deposit. We want our holding deposit back because after contacting them millions of time, we received one mail asking us to fill another form and they have reserved the property. But that was it. We have to reach out to them, if they are saying they have reserved. Why can’t they show us the property and hand it over to us? Really bad. This is absolutely unfair. They just want holding deposits and that’s it, worst customer service ever. Until 2 days before moving out from our place, we didn’t know where to stay. They have still not responded to us.

Really great accommodation. Comfortable and reasonably priced. Would recommend and the staff are friendly and helpful, especially Liam (with great hair)!
