Do not book! Avoid, avoid.!We booked for paddle boarding and kayaking. We turned up 20 mins before as instructed but everything was locked up. We tried to call the number supplied a few times but no response and waited over an hour before we gave up.Quick to take your money but not so quick to replying your voice messages.

We enjoyed taking out a couple of rowing boats for an hour. In good weather, the lake is beautiful and it's really pleasant. There are often people fishing and other people kayaking etc. but it's not too busy.I recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends or in school holidays.

The man who works at the water sports counter is not helpful or friendly at all. They do not allow you to bring your own board or kayak unless it’s a certain type, although the website does not specify this so you don’t know this until you arrive, and they make it very difficult for you to have a good time if you do have your own board. Very rude, not someone you want to come across on a family day out. Zero customer service. Will take your money but not help if any problems arise. The staff are friendly and helpful, but not the manager. Beautiful setting but experience let down by this person.

Really enjoyed our time kayaking and paddle boarding on the lake. Really friendly staff and good equipment. Because it was such a nice evening they let us stay out longer on the water than just the 1h we had paid for which we really appreciated. They have changing facilities (no showers) and lockers for you to leave your valuables in.

Friendly, courteous and efficient staff - I turned up with four post-lockdown teenage boys who were gradually acclimatising to the outside world again (!!!), to find a well run and well organisedwater sport hire company who were able to assist with this ‘transition’ by allowing the minimum of fuss regards getting them life-jacketed up and safety briefed, before helping to launch them out onto the glass like stillness of the lake, set in beautiful surroundings of the Tilgatewood....all I had to do was perch in the shade under a tree and watch them race against each other (they split into two rowing boats), splash each other , and generally typify an Edith Blyton like existence in the great outdoors that had been missing since this bloomin’ virus set-in. They also hire out mountain bikes kayaks, and paddle boards. Ideal , safe, non-contact , outdoor ventures. In my opinion, much better priced than the overhyped Go-Ape that has set up in Tilgate Park.

Variety has increased over the years so there's more to pick from.

I am a beginner at paddle boarding and was looking forward to a SUP session on a lake for the first time after experimenting it on the river (which I absolutely loved). The boards we hired were not sufficiently inflated and we had no ankle leash. I am not afraid to fall into the water but on a windy day I was worried not to be able to reach my board if I was to fall. As a result I lost total confidence and felt my legs shake each time I stood on the board, so I sat most of the time. My partner, who owns his own paddle board had to hire a whole £20 session because they wouldn't lend or hire just a life jacket (which most other places do if it's compulsory).People around us were merely using their boards as if on a pool mattress and that is exactly what it felt like.

The place it's lovely, with many choices of entertainments, go ape, padelbording, playground, nature walk were you can find much pleasent, quiet corner to have coffee and ice cream while kids play mini golf. Nature reserve you have to pay entry.Only disappointment we had with the ice cream truck which is opposite the parking you entre straight, next to toilet. There pricing policy is so doggy. I've ask for 2scoops but different flavour ice cream and they charged us as well above the going rate. Usually 2scoops is £4.50 it came like cost us £9. The ice cream scoop was small and melting. Luckily I challenged them.
