HGB Motorcycles Ruislip

First time back to HGB in 40 years, great selection of bikes at very good prices. Large selection of clothing and parts two shops along the road. Highly recommended.

I went to look at a couple of bikes and had a very nice experience. I spoke to Kevin and he was helpful and friendly. I’ve ended up with a good deal on a good, used bike. I pointed out some minor problems I experienced during a test ride (which they were more than happy to let me go on) and without any fuss they were sorted. I’ll update the review if anything goes wrong during collection of the bike but I can’t see it happening to be honest.Update: I was having trouble getting there to collect the bike so they offered to deliver it to my house. I’ve had the bike for a couple of weeks now and so far I’ve had no problems.

The sales team are nice enough, but the guys in the workshop are rude, and incompetent.I bought a brand new CBF125 back in 2012 and had no end of troubles. Anyway, against my better judgement I decided to purchase a second hand bike from here around April sort of time. I had no end of problems, and it went back and forth from them to me, and they still couldn't fix it. They completely fobbed me off when I said the speedo wasn't working, and they claimed it was working fine. Also how they passed it through an MOT is beyond me. I basically got fed up, then lockdown happened, so I had to fix it myself as it was absolutely not in a state to ride.Just an FYI. I had to replace the front wheel bearings, replace the fork seals (as they were leaking all over the place on both sides!), the pickup sensor, I've also had to replace the CDI, along with the barrel, keys antenna, etc etc because of a fantastic bodge job on the electrical system which would have been spotted had they actually bothered to look into why the speedo was not working. Fortunately I know how to fix these problems, but I've still had to spend a whole load of money to get the bike into a state where it's safe to ride. Also, it was supposed to have a new battery installed, but didn't.I should have learnt my lesson the first time, but I thought buying a second hand bike with a fresh MOT would be relatively safe. If they had actually taken it for a test ride to check these issues (like they said they had) it would have been fairly obvious that things were wrong, even for most uninitiated motorcyclists, and mechanics.

I went into the shop to enquire about some biking clothing such as jacket, trousers and some boots.. I decided to go with the RST brand, which looks really good and is reasonably priced. I dealt with Steve whom was brilliant and knowledgeable, so that made the experience easy and stress free for me. I'm really happy with my choices and will be visiting HGB on a regular basis from now on.

Update 24/11/2023 (edit after 7 years)Bought an NC750x 2023 in March 2023 and paid £10500.00 (including accessories).Had an engine misfire. I took it to HGB, considering its under warranty,Was charged £48.00 for diagnostics.Have bought a couple of bikes over the years and being charged £48.00 was petty. The service manager says that he has not charged me for the 5 mile test ride.I asked if other customers get charged for the test ride, he say 'no'. I ask him then why does he mention it.He says 'We have to charge the amount or how would we do business?'. I asked him 'Does HGB survive on £48 charges or Motorcycle Sales?'Earlier this morning, I spoke with Kevin about a purchase of the £18000 Africa Twin in March 2024 as I had a buyer lined up for my NC750. That's definitely NOT going to happen.Any other dealer would have done a courtesy and ignored it as a one off case. It's not the amount that matters.AVOID HGB.(On a matter of principle)You will come across amazing Sales guys like Kevin however; it's the after sales that will bite you later on.

Came here today to get my royal alloy a new tyre and was a great experience. Was offered a tea or coffee and staff was nice. Some of these reviews about bad customer service is ridiculous honestly. High quality tyre too!

would recommend you look elsewhere for you motorcycle, staff are extremely unhelpful, uncommunicative and just plain rude especially the owner mike. he would get annoyed and rude when i would call to ask about the bike i had PAID for and was extremely unhelpful. i regret using this dealership as a whole and would advise you look elsewhere. save your time and your money

Contacted these guys over a jacket they were selling on eBay. Extremely helpful even when I needed to return it (not their fault, bad fit). Very good people to deal with....

Huge stock of new Hondas, Suzukis and Kawasaki scooters and motorcycle. Big range of used bikes too on stock..Very friendly folks on shop floor and also in service department.Bought a used GS from them , it was a straight forward and quick transaction. They’ve handed over my bike with a new MOT, Service and one full year road tax.Many thanks to sales and service team.
