St James Church

We had a very warm welcome from the church under the circumstances

We were there about 5 weeks ago for a funeral. Everything's went well, the deconess were very supportive thank you all for a beautiful service.

Midnight mass was a loving experience

I'm biased as I've attended this church for sixty five years, but from my point of view it's warm and welcoming, supportive and has a good social quality. From visitors remarks the church has been rated very welcoming and inclusive. It is a lovely light and spacious building although built in 1840 its exterior does not give clues as to its interior. Worship is varied from Morning Prayer to Evening Prayer, Holy Communion and Choral Evensong, We have a new Vicar, the Rector of the Parish of Dudley and we are just one Church in the Team, St Barnabas is one other. Why not come and visit us, morning service at 9:30am and evening during summertime at 6:30pm, if not for worship, come and look around, we have a robed choir and a good organist and it's a lovely setting for a wedding. Always wanting to increase the congregation especially with young people and families. Hope this whets your interest.

It’s ok

Closed at the time I was there, late evening. However I did enjoy sitting in the grounds and taking in the solitude. It's a beautiful church which I have attended in the past and was made very welcome by everyone. Nice to see one of Dudley's historical places of worship still thriving. The grounds are very well maintained and even though it's next to a busy road, there is a real sense of peace and tranquility. Well worth a visit.
