Had a poor experience and very little, sporadic communication, and over a year to get very basic plans drawn up - despite investing several thousand pounds (the plans were later refused and no further support given to find a way forward). Would not recommend... I'd opt for another architect next time.

David has created a fantastic extension which has hugely improved the house. He was completely involved with the project from drawing, to working with the builders through to completion. We are delighted with the space and would happily work with him again in the future.

Our initial contact with David was fantastic, he replied to our initial query instantly and came out to visit us. When he visited us, there was no rush, no question was too much and he went through all the various possibilities for us but listened to us, which was the most important. He gave us timescales as to when plans would be done and delivered on those timescales too. Explaining the process clearly along the way. The plans came out beautifully and were detailed and on point. David has been helpful, at the end of the phone for any queries or concerns and is a pleasure to work with. I wasn’t at all happy with the service we got. The strategic advice was inadequate and led us down the wrong path costing us over a year and thousands of pounds. While there was an eventual admission that the approach and outcome expected were wrong, there was no apology and no help, we got left to sort it out ourselves.Having subsequently then used a different firm of architects I can see so many differences. With Balance there was a lack of professionalism, the work product was poor quality, the advice was intrinsically wrong and frankly they took on work for which they were out of their depth (and probably knew that to be the case).Might be that for very simple projects they’re ok but my advice is avoid like the plague.

What a great company to work with. From the beginning David worked with us to create an extension that we could be proud of. We wanted to make some drastic changes to the layout of the house and he helped us to create a brand new living space that we love. David guided us through the whole process from the initial design, planning, the tender process and working with us to ensure the final build was perfect. Would not hesitate to recommend.

David took us all the way through our project creating a fabulous space with an extension to our house and a seemless integration into the existing building. We've been so pleased with the end result. He handled issues we had with planning efficiently. He listened to our feedback and evolved the plans to cater accordingly giving us an honest opinion. We would recommend balance architecture.
