Hired a car for work through the derby branch which was supplied out of Chesterfield due to location of delivery and pickup address.When trying to get confirmation everything was ok a day or so before the rental Chesterfield claimed to have no knowledge until i pressed them and then suddenly they knew everything about it.The rental was for a 24hr period however we were charged for 3 days.The drop off and collection were the same place and yet we've been charged for the drop off and collection along with an additional charge of £15 for a one way rental.Simply fabricated costs, maybe they thought it wouldn't be noticed as it was a how for a company.Whilst everything was ok I'd have to advise avoiding this company as their accountancy is magical and completely fictional.

Very poor service absolutely appalling. I booked a rental on the 11th of October for today the 24th October for a wedding function. As I was preparing to make my way to collect the manager called to say no vehicles are available for me so not to come to the depot. I stated that a booked the vehicle in advance so that I don't face this sort of situation yet he would offer no assistance. I stated I was willing to travel to another depot to collect a vehicle yet he stated that they have no cars available at any depot in the Midlands.I assumed he was lying so I went over to the depot and lo and behold there were cars there waiting for customers to collect. I asked that you have 2 cars in the back give me one of them but he denied my request and stated he is not obliged to help and he can cancel my booking if he so pleases. I was left with no vehicle for the wedding even though I planned in advance yet customers willing to pay more were prioritised over myself just because I booked at a cheaper rate in advance. Very poor customer service.If you offer a service in any sector then you should always have an alternative prepared just in case. This company failed epicly and left their customer in a difficult situation without any care for the customer. the managers de. meanour was. I will never use this company again and hope that others think twice when looking at this company as they will wreck any special events you have planned without a second thought of causing problems to the customer.

Fantastic service, very friendly staff and a great car. They were competitive on price and one of only a very few hire companies who would let us drive an off roader at 25 (all the others demanded all drivers be at least 30 years old).

Had to hire a car following my own breaking down & needing repair. Staff were polite & helpful especially as I was ringing to renew the hire every couple of weeks until my car was repaired. Hire costs were reasonable. Would definitely use them again.

I have been using Thrifty Derby for about 6 weeks, my company gives us the choice who we wish to use to supply hire cars. Having used Avis for a while, disappointed, I tried Thrifty in Derby, so wish i had done this a year ago, all brand new cars, customers service is excellent, never have any problems. I would recommend Thrifty to anyone!! Try them, you won't regret it! Big thank you to the Team at Derby.

Terrible customer service, paid for the car I was supposed to be renting for a week when I called the store I asked the lady if there was anything I needed to bring with me, she informed me that I needed my driving license, bank statement and passport. When I arrived she then informed me I needed to have my driving license for longer than a year and I would need to contact a third party in order to get my money refunded - Avoid this company at all costs.

Hired a car from here through my insurance. Was supplied a very nice car, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend to anyone who needs to hire a car.
