We had a great mid-week dinner at La Dolce Vita. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, we did enjoy our experience, and the food was excellent. The calamari for starter, steak and octopus for mains and tiramisu for dessert were all very tasty. The tiramisu was probably one of the best ones I've had in recent years. The customer service was very friendly. My little advice: 1. I would appreciate a better wine selection; the current wine list is extremely short and lacks diversity. 2. The steak should ideally come with a side of veggies like roasted potatoes/fries etc., especially that the price £25 is already quite high for Colchester standards. Despite this, this is a really nice place with great quality food.

Food was great and atmosphere was nice but the Italian style music wasn't really my choice but what else can you expect from an Italian themed restaurant! Overall experience was great and the waiter who served us was really nice

Good decorations and music. Generous menu and portion sizes. Good wine. Staff were helpful and friendly although one seemed possibly new or timid. The food was delicious though I question the decision of leaving the shell on the prawns, it was a little bit off-putting personally, though still a tasty dish. I was offered a coffee or drink on the house for my response to the prawns which was wonderful. I gratefully declined as I was full and had enjoyed myself. I'd happily come back.

Could only fault one thing which was rectifyed in a timely manner. Food spotty dog and very reasonable. Would I go back YES

You make really lovely pizza... however, we keep trying to order food from you and you keep closing your kitchen early. We will stop trying soon and I don't see how this helps your fledgling business or your customers.

Ordered online for delivery- no indications of issues. Takes the order and your money . Then 10 mins later get a message saying due to high demand they can’t fulfill your order and a refund will be made in 3-5 days!!!!This was early evening on a TuesdayThought given the good food reviews I would try again the next day - two pizzas is all I was asking and would you believe the same thing happened againIf you can’t deliver , please don’t offer it

Excellent food. We had the lobster linguine and Beef Filet and would highly recommend both. Service was good and restaurant spotless and attractive. Cost of the meal was very good and worth every penny.
