We booked for lunch 4 adults a toddler and baby the food was amazing

Excellent. It was very busy when we arrived for our evening dinner. The staff were helpful and attentive. I ordered the chicken green pepper and black bean dish which was delicious, my partner ordered chicken curry, unfortunately this was a little watery and could have been more flavourful. Overall though we both agreed that our experience was definitely above average.

Went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We've been before. Restaurant was very busy giving it a lovely atmosphere. We ate from the lunch menu and had starter and main course. The food was very tasty and served quickly. Shame we didn't get any Prawn crackers.

Nice food, excellent service.First time trying Shanghai Oriental and really enjoyed the 2 course set price lunch.Had the spring rolls as a starter and the sweet and sour. Both were delicious. The only feedback I can give was regarding the portion size for the starter could have been slightly bigger.The staff were attentive, friendly and pleasant.The location looked nice.

We visited recently for the first time with friends and we all thought the restaurant was nicely decorated with a relaxed atmosphere.We all ordered from the evening set menu and were served nice, tasty food with decent portion sizes. Staff were attentive without being intrusive.Will visit again soon.

We had a family lunch here and even though we were booked for 3pm we had the option of the business lunch menu.Food was exceptional, excellent service.The restaurant itself is probably one of the nicest interiors I’ve seen.There is an extra service charge for larger groups which we were not aware of but overall really impressed.

I visited the Shanghai Oriental on my partners and her daughter in laws recommendation when they visited the previous week, and how right they were, the food was exceptionally good indeed. We had the chicken noodle soup and mushrooms in garlic sauce as our starters and Chinese chicken curry and lemon chicken as our mains - both looked and tasted fresh and were very reasonably priced considering the high quality on offer. The service was also exceptional with friendly and helpful staff. All this topped of by a nice-looking restaurant which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. At this rate Larkhall will be on the foodie map as this is now 2 exceptional restaurants (a new Indian as well) that we now have.

We had a 3 course meal. Chili and salt chicken wings and squid. Duck in lychee and plum sauce with fried rice and chili and salt chicken with chili and salt chips. Banana fritters with maple sauce and ice-cream. The food is presented in a high standard and its delicious. The place has been decorated and designed to a high standard. Definitely the best Chinese in Larkhall.

Visited today with my partner for a birthday treat - and what a treat it was! Warm and friendly staff who successfully walk the line between attentiveness and being intrusive. Comfortable seating and pleasant decor, we particularly enjoyed the art pieces around the dining room. Service was quick, all drinks and meals were correct. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We both have generous appetites, so ordered starters, mains and sides from the lunch menu - which offers fantastic value for money - as well as a bowl of crackers each. However l, despite loving the food, we soon realised we'd over ordered a touch, so would order less on subsequent visits, as the portions are well considered. My only regret was that I couldn't sample the attractive cocktails or the extensive and varied wine list, as I was driving. In terms of constructive criticism, finding we had been charged for tap water was a surprise. We ordered a soft drink and a beer, plus a water each for our meal, and noted a charge of 60p noted as 'dash x2' on our bill. I do not mind being billed for glass service when taking tap water (they don't clean or deliver themselves!), but a policy of advising patrons at point of order would be helpful, and serving it in larger glasses for those who have ordered a drink listed in the menu as well, rather instead of, would be welcome. This is not a staff or kitchen issue, however, and they can not be faulted as we had a lovely visit. We look forward to returning, and bringing friends and family along to enjoy a beautiful meal together in future.

Food was nice, ordered a takeaway but was soo disappointed by the portions and the price they charged me. £56 and it was like all kids portion sizes. Ordered half crispy aromatic duck was more like a quarter portion, tiny tub of sauce had to ask for another and charged me £1 for that, rice tubs were pitiful, just feel completely ripped off for what I got which is a shame as the food was nice but unfortunately I won't be returning.
