Took time off work to wait in for them to give me an estimate. No-one showed up and nothing was even on their system. I asked them to try to send someone around anyway and they said they'd phone back but didn't. It's cost me a morning's pay. Will go elsewhere.

Rude, overpriced and under-delivered. We still have damp in several places. Felt taken advantage of because we said we were selling, so no one cared. New plaster doesn't match the old, so the wall is uneven. Terrible job; use Bensleys at your own risk.

Bensleys have now completed several contracts for me, throughout Sussex involving timber treatment and damp proofing. Their surveyors have always been efficient and helpful. I have built up a good relationship with this company as they always go above and beyond. The office staff are always friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend them.B

To Bensleys’ credit I will acknowledge that their basic work was satisfactory and the re-plastering was good, but lack of attention to detail and basic carelessness led to a lot of problems. These were exacerbated by the Company’s poor response.The small details included NOT protecting the radiator valves and water outlets in the kitchen, so they got covered in plaster - which I had to clean out subsequently.But the real trouble started when they severed a cable to a wall-light in the living room, which tripped the electric lighting circuit (we later found it had blown the light dimmer switch too).When they removed the old plaster from around one of the water pipes it caused a small leak in the elbow joint, but then they completely denied responsibility, and I had to call in a plumber to rectify the problem (luckily just tightening the compression joint).But worse was to come. The Terms and Conditions stated that I had to pay extra to have the electrician re-instate all the electrical sockets they had removed, and I accepted this. The work was done satisfactorily and he also replaced the dimmer switch - but there was still a problem with the lighting circuit as the bathroom lights would not work. Bensleys had not worked in that area of the flat so I couldn’t blame them, and agreed to pay the electrician directly to assist me.It was like looking for a needle in the haystack and we had to cut holes in the ceiling to try and find the “problem”. After several hours of tracing wires, we found that Bensleys had damaged another wall cable (that was the live feed to the bathroom) AND PLASTERED OVER IT.They finally did accept responsibility for this issue and paid for the reparations, but refused to offer any compensation for all trouble they had caused.

Bensleys came to do a damp survey on a property I was buying in Hanover in January as I suspected a south facing wall was damp. The report stated no damp and no intervention required. After moving into the property It was very clear there WAS damp in that area so I got them to come back and do another survey 6 months after the first one. They told me it was very damp and I needed to get damp proofing done! I dont know who paid off who here to get that initial fake report but i ABSOLUTELY DO NOT recommend this company!! When I confronted them about it I was told “it had rained a lot since January”!!! It’s absolute rubbish and I’ve now found a sensible company who tell the truth!

This company are brilliant -they have undertaken two quotations for different properties and the work has been superb , completed and finished on time , super communication and incredibly helpful . I have total confidence in recommending them.
