Fun, small space with incredible service- especially since they only had two waitresses!Food was tasty, watch out for the wait! There was a line out the door to get in, so be prepared for that

Co op food from down the road served in a restaurant at very high prices.I had sea bass, my partner the fish pie. Sea bass tasted like a ready meal, boil in the bag" type

We came back to try this restaurant after not being able to get a booking last summer as the reviews looked good and it always seems to have a queue. Overall I felt a little let down, and was expecting better food (and selection), especially for the prices they are charging. But I the staff were super friendly and the service was good.We had calamari and black pudding to start, but the calamari was so deep fried it felt like I was at a take away. The black pudding was nice enough and the accompanying chutney went well with it. The calamari didn't taste bad but if you have access to fresh fish then why deep fry the hell out of it. So many other places do a light, tempura style batter, that is so much nicer. It just felt a little unimaginative. For mains we had scallops and hot smoked salmon, and I would say I was a bit disappointed with the options in general. I expected a broader selection of fillets, other than just salmon. The scallops were cooked well and tasted fine, but again I wasn't blown away. I didn't think the beetroot puree went well with them personally and potatoes and a side salad also felt a bit simple. The hot smoked salmon was again fine, but nothing fantastic, and lacked any depth of flavour. Overall the food was fine, we had no complaints in terms of quality, it just felt like they are missing a trick with all the fresh fish they have, as it all felt a bit bland and for the price I walked away feeling a bit let down

I know that is hard to find smart and knowing his job waiter, especially when the UK left the UE :) but what I saw here... disaster. 18 people getting wet in the rain, while inside are empty tables (not prepared for at least 10 min). Food... my scalops died twice - first time on the begin of preparing, second time on the table.Servis 0/5Food 2/5

The best seafood restaurant in Isle of Skye. The place is always crowded so we went 5 mins before they open and already there were 5 to 6 people outside waiting. We got in and ordered the salmon and it was The Best!!!!I would recommend this place for sure!!!! By the way keep in mind they have limited seating and it will get crowded very fast!

Great menu, we ate there twice during our four night stay on Skye. Best to get in early if you want a particular dish that may sell out. Good varied menu, fresh seafood expertly cooked. Good wine list, greta service. Quick service if you want it, but not rushed out if we wanted to linger. As they do not take bookings we queued about 15 minutes before opening....got in right away.

Food was okay, wanted to eat F&C but 16£ was too expensive imo. Had calamari instead, unfortunately they didn't have coleslaw. Overall the calamari were okay, but not what I expected from a seafood restaurant. Staff was nice. Place was crowded. Would try another restaurant if I come back to portree :)

This restaurant was recommended by a local as a good seafood place. They were right, everything was so fresh and tasted amazing. Our server Michelle was fantastic, so helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I’m a fat guy so I know food, and I HIGHLY recommend eating here if you’re in Portree!

We were exploring around the Isle of Skye for the weekend and since it was a Sunday there were not many restaurants open in the area. After doing a bit of research we found that the Lower Deck restaurant was open and accepting walk-ins only as they don't offer telephone bookings. When we arrived there was quite a large cue outside and it was raining so we got absolutely drenched standing outside for 45mins until a table was free. Once we got in the restaurant there was only 10/15 tables so I understand why we had a long wait and with Portree being the tourist capital they will always be popular.Myself and my Girlfriend both ordered the fish and chips which were served within 15/20mins which was fantastic as we were really hungry, unfortunately we didn't realise it was breaded as wasn't given the choice to have it battered as we ordered so quickly. The fish was really good but did have some small bones in the tail which we picked out. Still slightly hungry we both had the chocolate brownie and ice cream which was really good. Our visit was good but I wouldn't hurry back as it was just fish and chips and having to cue for so long put us slightly off too, the pricing is a little high end but being in Portree I understand, if your in the area The Lower Deck is worth a try.

It's a small restaurant by the sea, recommend warmer clothing as they don't heat. The food was really good. I have no complaints. If you enjoy seafood I think you can't get much more fresh than here.word of advice they don't take reservations so make sure you are 30 mins earlier there. And bring a jacket because you might have to wait in a queue. we were 20 mins early and still got in with around 20 people in front of us.
