Chesterfield Skatepark

Good for youngsters letting off steam

Great Outdoor Skate Park for all Abilities. Lights come on at night when it gets dark. Bins near the entrance and some amenities near by.

Chesterfield is a good sized concrete skatepark with a small half bowl section , several concrete ledges with square metal coping . There is also 2 round rails (one of which is curved) and a square across and down rail . One of the downsides to this park is that the coping on the square ledges has been well and truly battered over the years which created a bumpy ride! Also parking is a bit of an issue if you're driving , you can park at the retail parks on either side but technically you could be fined for leaving the retail premises if you're unlucky, the B&Q car park is locked at about 8pm and they won't hesitate to lock your car in overnight if you're not careful!!!

Really nice facility. Decent smooth surface. Good variety of ramps. The low angle ramps are particularly nice for a change.All the locals I have met so far have been really welcoming. A good community feel

It's a great skate park, but, the older more adult ones who frequently visit this make it hard for the younger teens to enjoy it so much.. The older ones do a lot of sitting around on the actual skate walls smoking weed and drinking beer.. All well and good fun if they had actual benches and tables to sit at out of way from the park area, then it would be more accessible fun for the younger ones.. Jmo, I remember being their ages, both ends..This place seriously needs benches and tables around the greener grassed edges for families as well as the older teens / adults who go to use the park too..Maybe even a trailer cafe of some sort too... Would make quite a bit of money, many folk go off to the shops close by instead.

Needs some TLC only 1 of the 8 lights work and it's barely lighting up 10% of the park, it could do with a few repairs here and thereGreat flow to the park and good atmosphere, shame it's not looked after by the council

Mostly friendly community of people. A mixture of ages (around 3-20's)A decent size and featured park for the children and inner child in us.Located in between two major retail parksWell lit, even at night. Not sure about CCTV.*That means there is some anti social behaviour and drink/drug use at times.However don't let that put you off. See for yourselves. Bring a friend/adult.Overall a great place to visit for skateboard, BMX, scooter (riders) etc

Nice little skatepark. Good smooth surface for skateboards. Good features for a small place. Worth a visit if you're a 'boarder. Could do with with extending it to make it bigger, then maybe worthy of 5 stars.
