Just had a sensational three course Sunday lunch! Food was sensational - beautifully presented, great quality and thoughtfully sourced. Atmosphere warm and welcoming, staff lovely. Also a great destination after a beautiful countryside stomp.

Visited this pup in passing recently and it was really traditional and cosy. Plenty of seating for a Friday evening and the outside area was buzzing with a good atmosphere. We didn't order food so can't comment. The drinks were quite pricey, but normal, I guess, for the moment.Staff were friendly and the toilets adequate.

Lovely part of the world. We waited ages along with others for our lunch -40 minutes. They had changed the menu so we had to make do. Had a sesame salad that was the size of a starter for £16. Admittedly the chef only started that day. Very friendly waiter but l can’t risk going back. Great for a drink, but that took sometime to

A superb dining experience, really great service, lovely food, good ales on tap and a great setting. We were a couple with very few in the pub that night, treated to a complementary amuse Bouche, a delicious cauliflower cheese soup. My king prawns and then fish & chips were excellent, my wife’s halloumi fries, then whipped goats cheese with honeycomb and walnut salad was superb. Really good friendly, cheerful efficient service.

Young, friendly and vibrant staff. Really tasty homemade chicken burger, full of flavour. A nice change from the usual frozen burgers you get in other pubs. Service was very friendly and helpful, not in your face. We were even treated to a complementary amuse bouche. Would go back again.

Update… this review is for May 2023 and how different things are from June 2022! My rave review is below and I was so looking forward to returning. This was a special weekend away for my husband’s birthday and I feel let down and so disappointed. The menu is now second rate, normal and boring - steaks, ribs, fish and chips. Very different from the photos I have shared before. The batter on the fish was soggy. Everything bland. My husband left most of his. The tamarind ribs were quite harsh, not really a marinaded flavoursome rack as I thought they might be and the “slaw”… the chef should be embarrassed to serve it. It was warm and must have been sitting out for ages as the cut edges of the red cabbage and red onion were brown not white or translucent as when fresh. My recommendation - don’t bother! Look for a different venue. I’m so upset as it spoilt the last night of what was a special celebratory weekend. I have changed my review to 1 star from 5.What a wonderful discovery. A real gen and the chef can cook up a storm!!Delicious doesn’t even come close to describing the delights we had for our evening meal. Every course was perfection. Beautifully presented and the perfect portion size. Excellence without arrogance. Could not fault it. We are in the village for a few days so hope to book again.

Went here yesterday for Sunday lunch. The place was so hot inside no ventilation no windows open. After ordering and waiting over an hour. Still no food to be then told our order had been lost. Shocking also waiting staff walking straight past us when we had empty glasses. And to add insult to injury dogs are allowed in the eating areas. Shocking experience..

Had a fabulous dinner here last night! The young man behind the bar was so nice and funny too. The “Chicken Supreme” was indeed supreme, fresh and perfectly done. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Such a cozy spot too. Highly recommend!
