Expensive!!!The starter was great....the biriyani was underwhelming. Not worth the £50 we paid for it.What upsets me most was the service...I like to leave a decent tip - if service has been good-Now bear in mind we were the only people eating in the restaurant- everyone was getting takeaways.The drinks ordered- had to be asked for again as our starter had come out.Had to ask for ice in my water twice.Had to ask twice for the bill...it's like they just couldn't be bothered....I hate leaving an okay review as I want to be able to champion local business....but this deserves the okay.

The best indian restaurant in Hampshire. We travel to Alresford every Friday, from Winchester, to collect our takeaway. Friday night is curry night! The Shapla is far superior to anything that Winchester has to offer. Chicken is always tender, unlike most popular Winchester restaurants.

Excellent meal last night and I am very picky. The salmon was probably the best fish curry I’ve tasted and the okra amazing.. We did wait over an hour for food to come and my friends needed to leave to get to Heathrow (a hotel as flight in the morning) so I was getting worried but the meal was well worth waiting for. I don’t know the cost as my friend paid so I’m guessing what it cost..

Our first visit to this restaurant. It had a lovely atmosphere and very friendly welcoming staff. We enjoyed the poppadoms and chutney etc. Mixed special platter starter, Chicken Rogan and Chicken Bhuna. We will definitely be going back.

Terrible food. Chicken vindaloo is in chilly paste. Wrong dal used for the dal makhani and loaded with chic peas. Tandoori roti is white in color. More of a naan than tandoori roti. Needs a new chef who knows what the roaches are made of.

I love it there. Food is amazing; each dish is cooked to perfection. Service was amazing, and the atmosphere was buzzing as it was packed. Highly recommend going or getting a take out
