Ellesborough Golf Club

Wheelchair access difficult. There is a step, but the staff watched my wife get out of her chair to struggle in - and when I said 'you need a ramp' was told there was one, but it wasn't put down. It still wasn't down when we left despite assurances it would be.

After all the rain and thunderstorms we had today, the course drained extremely well, while most courses in the area were closed Ellesborough was open and a pleasure to play being on chalk it drained extremely well.Well worth a visit whatever time of year.

I've played here as a guest and its a fantastic course. Undulating well kept greens , course is in great nick. Well worth a try

We came here for a celebration lunch for a relatives 60th wedding anniversary. There was plenty of free parking within an easy walking distance of the clubhous.The restaurant was lovely, a spacious room with a lovely atmosphere.It was a Sunday lunch which was a carvery. They made a table big enough for 14 of us to sit round comfortably. Waitresses bought our starter's, I chose the vegetable soup, which was delicious. We had to go to the carvery and get our main courses.There was a choice of roast beef or turkey, which was cooked to perfection. The chef served a generous portion of meat, and we served our own vegetables. I couldn't fault the meal it was perfect.They also have a well stocked bar.You do have to be a member of the golf club to use this place, but you can come as a guest of a member as we did. Or you can buy a membership.

I never really leave reviews but felt compelled to share my positive experience of Ellesborough Golf Club. I played an away fixture here and was thoroughly impressed from start to finish.The course is fantastic, with awesome views on nearly every hole and a great range of memorable and varied holes which create a fair test of golf where all parts of your game get a thorough work out. The condition of the whole course was brilliant, with the greens particularly impressive. The course is one which requires a great deal of thought and calculation for every shot - with undulating fairways, sloping lies and elevation changes - which was a challenge I enjoyed. This course has gone straight into my top 10 ever played, thanks to its interesting layout, sentence views and its spectacular condition You might be able to tell… I really liked it.Our round on a Wednesday afternoon was perhaps a little slow, finishing in around 4 hours 20 minutes, but this was described by the members we played with as unusual and particularly slow for the course and with a series of 4BBB matches being played, the slowish pace was perhaps unsurprising. To me, the pace of play didn’t feel too bad, maybe made tolerable by the incredible scenery and beautiful presentation of the course.I found the members very welcoming, kind, ready to have fun, socialise and at the same time as wanting to play competitively.The staff were superb; attentive, polite and helpful throughout our visit.The food we enjoyed before and after our round was also really good.All in all, a wonderful experience and one I hope to repeat again in the not too distant future.

We DJed here for Emily's wedding and had a great night! All the staff and guests were fantastic!

Decent track however extremely rude Pro shop attendant who needs better training on how to welcome visitors - unfortunately that's what I'll remember.
