Pleasant walk along the canal. Lots of canal boats, some better kept than others. Car park costs £2 (4hrs), paid using PayByPhone app

Carpark very quiet. Canal still in lockdown, but barge owner happy to chat at scocial distance as we kayaked past.Update 16/4/23Canal a busier then before with watercraft moving along the canal in both directions. Still very peaceful paddling at a leisurely pacePlenty of wildlife to observe along with a swan who doesn't seem to like kayaks much or was just trying to borrow mine. All in all a loverly few hours on the K & A.

No public toilets. Noisy road near by. Pleasant enough.

Good place for Kayaking. Many hours paddling as Mikes between locks. Lots narrow boats parked along the route. Saw lots of birds. Parking in wharf cheap but limited space so come early. Launch site is a slip way so easy in but slippery out so reverse back up easier.

So, came here with only one purpose. Launch our canoe. There is a bar bistro called the waterfront. It's only open on certain days/nights but it looked pleasant with a nice canal side beer garden. Parking is £2 for 4hours, proceeds to the canal trust. Some lovely walks from here along the towpath. About 4 miles west is a lovely pub called the Barge ,and, on the opposite side of the canal, s very nice cafe /tearoom. Well worth a visit.

Lovely stroll along the canal, we did a loop heading west to the first bridge and back on the opposite side. Easy parking.

The Wharf itself is lovely . Shame about the rude people who seem to run the pub

Stopped here for a break from driving and it's quite charming and full of history. There's a pub ( didn't go in) and walks up and down the Kennet and Avon canal. Narrow boats moored here as well. There's a pay and display car park run by the Canal Trust(?).
