When I called ESStoneworks and Eric came out same day!He made a hole/gap for a gate in our front dry stone wall and built a back wall for us in our garden.Eric is clearly very talented. He made our old front wall look like there had always been a gate in it! Perfect stone work.He also helped us get the gate posts and gates in too.When the extra bricks we needed came to considerably more than he has quoted/guessed he even knocked some of his own labour price down to make up for the extra cost we had to pay the quarry.Lovely guy, quality job! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for any stone work in the area.

We arranged for Eric to train ten of us as part of our conservation group. He has so much knowledge as is so willing to impart it on you. He explained the techniques and principles of dry stone walling, and then it was our opportunity to give it a go. We asked so many questions and he was always willing to provide advice and show us the best way to approach it. We were all so pleased with the progress we made on the repair on the wall and also how good it looked. Eric is patient and willing to share his knowledge and lets you give it a go. I would recommend him without doubt.

We asked Eric for a quote on a dry stone wall we needed fixing. He got back to me straight away and came to visit the next day. When he was here, he was very professional and friendly and emailed through a formal quote the next day. Really impressed.

Eric came to our rescue when part of our boundary dry stone wall collapsed. He came straight round to provide a quote and advice when we initially contacted him. He provided a comprehensive report for our insurance company demonstrating his knowledge and expertise. Eric then did a great job of repairing the wall and removed all the rubbish from the site. Eric and Stuart rebuilt a collapsed stone boundary wall for us, fitting in the work at a busy time of year in order to make the wall safe and to prevent further collapse. The resurrected wall, in which they made use of the existing stone, is a beautiful sight. Apart from their incredible workmanship and knowledge they showed great thoughtfulness and consideration towards us and our neighbours. It was a pleasure to have Eric and his team here and we would not hesitate to contact him again for future work.

Eric and Stuart restored our brick and flint wall in South Oxfordshire. They did a truly superb job. The wall had, at some point in the past, collapsed and repaired as a botch. Then it had been allowed to be covered with ivy. When we removed the ivy it was clear it needed to be completely restored and I was fearful it would need to be replaced completely. But Eric and Stuart were somehow able to restore it so that you can't tell it had ever been in such a mess. It's an amazing piece of restoration, preserving all the existing materials. It was also a lot less expensive than rebuilding.Eric is a pleasure to work with. He is polite, responsive, punctual, and hard working. On our project he did everything I'd hope: he minimised our cost, preserved the heritage, and delivered a beautiful wall.I recommend his unreservedly.
