Castle o'Burrian
It's a wonderful place, with sea, wild nature and seabirds.

Castle o'Burrian is an outcrop that is an ideal nesting site for puffins. Parking and access are free. It is a short walk from the car park on a partially boarded footpath. Due to overcrowding of the outcrop the puffins also nest close to the access footpath and it is easy to get close to the birds.

Puffins galore! Provided you visit during puffin season. The worst sections of the path are supplemented with wooden walkways but it's still a reasonably rough, uneven walk overall so not suitable for wheelchair users or buggies but if you've no problems walking you should be able to make it no bother.

Lots of puffins in the summer, recommend coming around 8ish in the evening when they’ve flown in from sea

Beautiful and relatively short walk along very dramatic cliffs to the Castle itself. No puffins yet but we are early. Very scenic and peaceful, with a plethora of seabirds around. Well worth a visit

Always loved puffins when I was a child, so this was a very special moment. Can't believe how close you can get to them. Sat easily within 2 metres and got to watch them settle down for the evening. A truly amazing place ❤️

Stunning rock formation looking out over the North Sea towards Shetland. A tricky path to get to it but worth picking your way along the cliff edge. NB it’s not a castle!!

You can easily position yourself literally metres from the puffins. They were surprisingly confident around us! Massively recommended.
