DEALING WITH RISING DAMPThe service from start to finish was excellent, from the initial survey through to both of the teams completing the work(damp proofing and plasterer). We had a survey with Calum who was professional, well mannered and efficient. He pointed out the cause of our damp issue that had flummoxed us for some time (and other surveyors!). They even followed up by sending us further links and info about what was discussed. Great

This company was recommended by a family member who is in the building trade. We first met Alistair, who is the owner, who came out to complete a survey and answered all our questions. Once we had agreed upon a price and a date for the work to commence, he and his team answered any further queries we had before any work began. The 2 young men who worked at our property were fabulous. Andrew and Callum arrived timeously, were very respectful, kept us up to date with what was happening and didn't slack for a moment. They had everything they needed in their van, they wouldn't even stop for a can of juice or a cup of tea. They even listened to their music via headphones so as not to disturb us. They both worked their butts off. We also met Alistair's son Chris, again a lovely young man, very personable, who also kept us up to date with what was going on. Once the job was finished, we had noticed some things we were concerned about, purely because we know nothing about this kind of stuff. Alistair came out to our property and reassured us that all was well. He will also visit in a few months to ensure everything is as it should be. That is incredible customer service. After being worried about two areas of dampness in our home, we initially received a quote for a few £1,000 from another trader as they claimed they would need to knock down and rebuild a wall. However, upon contacting Matheson Damp Services over the phone, Karen made me feel very at ease, she firstly queried if we had tried the typical remedies of mould etc (rather than instantly trying to get a sale, so to speak), and then explained the whole process of what would happen with the survey and was happy to answer all my questions and offer lots of general advice.The survey completed by Calum, who was polite, efficient and very knowledgeable. In the end, the issues turned out not to be as serious as first feared from the initial quote of the first trader, which was a relief. Although the work required could not be carried out by Mathesons Damp Services themselves, Calum offered some great advice and assured us he would get us some further information forwarded to us.Within an hour or so, Karen, had already forwarded this information, along with some links to helpful products and some possible recommendations for other traders to carry out the work.All in all, cannot fault any aspect of the whole process. Mathesons Damp Services are definitely an honest, caring and professional company which I cannot recommend highly enough.

I had Matheson Damp Services out to help inspect some wood rot in a bathroom floor/roof and received nothing but a top class service, cannot recommend them enough. Highly professional while maintaining a friendly approach and talked me through all the processes to resolve the issue and had the work done . Would and will use them again.

Had a problem with mould on my upstairs bedroom ceilings could not get to the bottom of it. Contacted Alistair and knew right away he knew what he was talking about , came out went up my loft and the problem was no insulation at the corners of loft . Came and done the work the following week its was Chris that came to do the work , he was professional and a very nice guy and I am delighted with there work .Reasonable priced honest hardworking family business and I will recommend then to anyone looking to get work done as well as using them again myself .Thank you very much guys

Would 1000% recommend this fantastic team of people from my initial call to the finished product the customer service was phenomenal from the office staff and the workmanship amazing and the room was spotless after the work was completed. We were very pleased with the damp survey that Matheson did for us.It was very thorough and the person doing it clearly knew what he was talking about.He wasn’t just a surveyor, he also had lots of practical experience and was very helpful in providing useful information which helped us decide whether to buy the property we were considering.

Alistair and his team responded to our emergency email sent on a Saturday night within a matter of an hour.He made an appointment to come the next morning (Sunday) to assess the damages.We had just taken ownership of a new property two days previous and the horrors that we discovered were such that we were advised to seek a professional opinion.Immediately Alistair set out to explain in great detail the damages as he recorded them.He rearranged his scheduling due to the emergency and started the next morning.We are today so thankful for Alistair’s advice, his standard of work and his ability to complete the work in a very timely manner.His work ethics are beyond reproach.
