Having been all over Georgia a few years back from Batumi to Tblisi and falling in love with the food and wine (Georgia has a claim to being amongst the original wine makers), finding this lovely restaurant serving proper Georgian food, was a very happy moment. The decor is old school, the prices are cheap for London (not for Georgia), but the food is by far the best Georgian I’ve found in London. The staff are really friendly and are more than happy to talk about the food and offer suggestions for the table. For a drink I would recommend trying the chacha, the Georgian national spirit, which is made from grape pomace (a part of the product of the wine making process) and goes very well with Georgian meal. Georgian lemonade is tarragon flavoured and bright green, and is also a great addition and Georgian wine is very full bodied and quite different from other wines. Think a mellower Cabernet Sauvignon. The Acharuli Khachapuri (boat shaped bread with cheese and egg) is a must have and a crowd pleaser. Georgian salad is so simple, with just roughly chopped tomato and cucumber, but the walnut sauce makes it really tasty! If you go any grilled meats, make sure to ask for Tkemali sauce (green if available). In the pictures you can see two chicken dishes (Satsivi and Shkmeruli), liver with mushrooms and pomegranate and a beef stew for which I can’t remember the name. There’s a lot more on offer, with very walnut and aubergine rich dishes. I would highly recommend if you like you like very comforting and tasty food.

Absolutely brilliant experience at Tblisi. First experience of Georgian food and definitely will not be the last. The waitress was welcoming and the food was just fantastic. The pkhali, chicken liver and aubergines starters were very nice my personal favourite was the pkhali(steamed spinach). The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. Will be back again!

This is a nice, peaceful place to sit for a healthy lunch within walking distance of the busy Portobello Market. The food was very good. I took one star off for unfriendly staff. To be fair, staff in most places the week I was in London were not very friendly. Maybe it was the weather. It’s the end of winter and people seem tired.

Food writer Jonathan Nunn had written about this place and I had it saved for a really long time and finally got a chance to try it!This is definitely a hidden gem! Absolutely delicious food made with the freshest ingredients! We started with the Badrijani and Khachapuri. My husband normally can't stand eggplants but I was really eager to try this dish. However, he enjoyed it so much he ate half of it!! Can't really go wrong with bread filled with cheese and I highly highly recommend this! For the main course we ordered the Satsivi. This chicken dish had the most incredible sauce and was very flavorful and really just called for some bread to mop it up with. However it was served with a rice cauliflower dish which just had an off-putting texture for us. It was a little more dense than I had imagined and I thought it was going to be more fluffy like cauliflower rice.We also ordered the lamb stew called Chakapuli. This one was served with a salad and some bread. Lamb was soft and succulent. The broth was incredibly herbaceous and very comforting on a cold day. Highly recommend! We didn't get any dessert on this visit but I do hope they offer more traditional baked Georgian goods cuz I would love to try those. The service was quick and the restaurant was incredibly clean and warm and inviting.Definitely going to come back!

Came here with a big group of friends, had a great time. Food was mostly good but sadly some of it didn’t taste fresh like the Dumplings, maybe I’m just used to having them at the highest quality in Georgia and Russia.Apart from that, the service was excellent with friendly staff and the inside decor was lovely and cozy.

Amazing Georgian restaurant. Friendly and very helpful waitress who recommended most popular dishes as we didn’t know much about the traditional Georgian cuisine. Food was lovely, new experience for us but definitely worth trying. Our favourite was Acharuli, vegetarian red kidney beans with green salad and also dumplings khinkali. What a great place! Highly recommend!

I am an American who has been to many Georgian restaurants in my life, having even traveled to Tbilisi, Georgia twice.I can say that the khinkali at this restaurant in London are the best I have ever had. The salt and pepper seasoning on top of them was incredible. Highly recommend.Prices are reasonable for London and the service was very friendly.

Somewhat disappointed by the food here. My friend and I had the khachapuri, Satsivi and Chkmeruli. We thought the khachapuri bread was the boat-shaped bread with eggs on top but it turned out more like a quesadilla or a round bread with stuffed cheese. The bread was a bit greasy and not particularly flavourful. Also, the menu says that the chkmeruli comes with a garlic or walnut sauce" but note that you dont get to choose a garlic or walnut sauce. You only get a garlic *and* walnut sauce which was very oily and the overpowering garlic taste meant that I could not taste the walnut at all.The satsivi was pretty interesting but very salty. Probably wouldn't come back again."

Really loved the atmosphere in this relaxed, but beautiful place. Really nice dishes. For starters we had an aubergine dish, calf’s liver (delicious!) and a hot flat bread with cheese, butter and egg (which was amazing). For main we shared a walnut chicken dish, a lamb & herb, and the beef dumplings. The wine list is full of options from Georgia too.We really enjoyed our evening here and would absolutely go back.

Really good Georgian restaurant in northern part of London. Tasty food and drinks, amazing service, decent price. You have a good variety of food , some vegetarian stuff as well, smell of every dishes that I order was awesome, you can feel there that smell of home made baked bread. If you're from Eastern Europe, you gonna feel yourself here like at home.
