At my last service, I was told by the major dealership that I required new rear discs and pads and was quoted accordingly. I was then referred to Causewayside Garage by my friends at Crypton Tuning. I booked the car in and an hour later received a call from John to say that the discs had at least 50% wear left in them and if it was his car he would not change them! When I called to collect my car John would not accept any payment for the work he'd done checking the discs, which I was surprised, but genuinely grateful for.There is no doubt where I will go, next time my car needs attention!

My son just started university in Edinburgh and we used Causeway for his MOT based on these reviews. They dealt with the MOT very honestly and professionally, putting it through, not creating work for themselves and advising clearly what might need doing in future. Glad to have found them so that's where his car's going for everything for the next four years.

I went to Causewayside Garage on a friend's recommendation when I had problems with my clutch and I had a great experience, will definitely be going back in the future. John adjusted the clutch and wouldn't charge me for it. The work was great and the clutch lasted another year without issues. When the clutch eventually did need replacing I went back and they gave me a very reasonable price for the replacement. John is very reliable and honest and never pushes you to get work done that you don't need.

Brilliant garage. Clear reason a local independent garage that is trustworthy is always your best bet. Very fair and helpful. Did not over charger at all! In fact charged me £100 less than expected, I though something was needed and asked to be fixed but they inspected and found it was something else. They understand a car is not a money pit, things that are not needed should not be done. They managed to fitted me in at short notice, still open late so can pick up car after work and incredibly friendly.

This is a really great garage. the guy who runs it is pleasant and doesn't mess you about at all. The prices were reasonable and his work has kept my car going well for over a year now. I have also used him for MOT and felt it was efficient and thorough. I've been to a few bad garages in Edinburgh so this place is a great find.

Reliable, honest and affordable garage. They went out of their way to ensure the lowest price option was made available to me and that my Honda Civic was back in perfect working order. They seem genuine and I would highly recommend. It's difficult to find trustworthy garages these days, but these guys did a great job.

I've been using this garage for 10 years (service, MOT & repairs) and have recommended it to several colleagues who are also regular users now.John has always provided an excellent service, getting repairs done quickly, never doing more work than necessary and providing useful advice. He's always happy to explain any work that was required (or might be required before the next service). On 2 occasions, he didn't even charge for minor repairs where I'm sure other garages would have done so.Drop off and collection are available outside normal hours.Excellent workmanship and thoroughly recommended.

Took my car in after the engine light came on - it needs to be looked at further but the guys at the garage charged the battery for me overnight and managed to clear a couple of the faults and recommend diagnostics specialist to take the car too - and didn't charge! Honest, friendly and great customer service. Will definitely be bringing my car back here from now on.

I used this garage for several years for my car's annual service and MOT, until I had to sell my car. Unlike other garages, I never felt that I was being overcharged or advised to have work done that wasn't needed. Indeed, John sometimes advised that I could delay certain work until the next service. And I never had any issues with work done on my car.

Causewayside Garage
This is the second time I've used this garage and they haven't charged me. First time I had a warning light that had come on in error and the second time I have a very slight oil leak. They told me the oil leak is so minimal... more of a slight seep, that it's best just to monitor it and check my oil levels regularly. My car is very old and I've already spent a fortune on it in other garages so I appreciate an honest mechanic and not being ripped off. Will definitely keep using these guys.
