The Bernwood Jubilee Way, part of the project to reinforce the identity of the hunting forest, runs through a section of the wood on its 61 mile journey within the Ancient Forest Boundary. The wood contains about forty species of butterflies making it one of the most important habitats in Britain. Bernwood Forest
Great place for walking dogs or no nature spotting. Be prepared to be see a large herd of deer and (at the right time of year) many butterflies. It can get very muddy of the main access road. Not a lot of carparking available.

My dogs and I recently discovered this place and loved it from the first time.It is practical with a medium-sized parking area. The grounds are clean and it is enormous! You can follow the paths or adventure through the trees and find more paths. The only downside is that there is only one dog bin at the entrance (or at least I've only seen one) it would be nice to have some more.I would really recommend it for a morning out with family and/or dogs.

Lovely place. Really enjoyed our walk in the forest. The swing was the cherry on the cake for the children.#RajD01#RajD001

Bernwood Forest
Great place for a walk. Car park is usually busy but once you get out and about it's very quiet. Just one thing dog walkers? Putting the poo in a bag and hanging it in a tree is not cleaning up after yourself and your dog

Lovely peaceful place, nicely built walkways inside so still possible to have a nice walk even in wet weather. Maintained well. We will be back!

Very nice big forest with lots of paths to choose from. The main path is in full sun in summer however there are plenty of other shaded paths to choose from so very enjoyable. Great with kids
