Yesterday, we purchased a VW Polo as our son's first car and were extremely impressed by the professional, trustworthy and friendly service we received. We reserved the car for a small sum - unseen as we live in Dorset - with the option to complete the purchase within 10 days. This gave us the opportunity to check the car out (via a third party on-line service) and to arrange time to travel to Newport (a 4 hour round trip). It proved a smart decision as the car was just what we were looking for: tidy, low mileage, properly looked after and below £3,000. I purchased a Land Rover Discovery from Gwent Car Sales in November. The customer service I received from Dan was professional, fair and extremely reasonable. The car delivered upto Sheffield as described in excellent condition. The car did develop a fault which was paid for under warranty no quibble. I would recommend Gwent Car Sales as their after sales care was great.

A Very reliable and genuine dealerI have been extremely impressed by the service I have received during and after the purchase of a Mercedes E class. When I went to view and test drive the car, I was not put under any pressure to buy. I was given the keys and was able to inspect the vehicle and have a test drive at my leisure. I went ahead with the purchase, there were a few minor issues with the car, however, Shane assured me that these would be put right before I collect the car. Sure enough everything was sorted and I was more than happy with my purchase. It was unfortunate that the engine management light came on when I was driving home after collecting the car. After a phone call, I was again assured that the problem would be fixed. As I agreed that I didn't need a courtesy car, Shane arranged for the car to be collected from my house to carry out the repairs and return it to my house. I now have full confidence in Gwent Car Sales and they certainly live up to the high standards they claim. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Gwent Car Sales to purchase your next car. I have already told my friends the place to go for their next car purchase.

Bought a Gold GTI last year, car was as described, cost me a fortune getting it right but that's because I'm a picky Audi tech. Great price and service. Issues with car where age related and to be expected. Will use again if I see another good deal. Had one issue and they sent me a genuine part so I could fix myself without driving 130 back there! I recently bought a Mazda 3 from Dan and the guys at Gwent; they were really helpful from the outset without pressuring the sale at all. They were relaxed about navigating an annoying process getting a CAZ grant sorted from Bristol Council and gave me a reasonable price for my old car, and did a fairly extensive service and resprayed a scratch on the car’s bumper before collection. The car was well valeted and polished at collection and I was generally really happy with the process and the quality of the car for the price. Would recommend, and would return again.

Would not recomend this garage at all sold me a peugo 208 on finance with mot and new service only to go back for new wiper blades ,new tyre,replace broken indicator lense and replace brake cylinder ,i also had to buy a new battery £120 and with a ongoing engine fault which they told me cant be repaired so the are having car backAnd trying to charge me for milage wot a joke

Thinking of buying a car from gwent car sales?Well here is my story. In April 2023 I bought my car from Gwent car sales and it was all well and good. Until a week or more I heard a funny noise coming from my engine compartment. As anyone else would I reached out to get it covered off of the warranty I had. p.s they didn’t specify I had warranty when I bought the vehicle. Luckily I had the knowledge already knowing that cars come with warranty when you buy from the a dealer 95% of the time. Anyway I had it checked out by them 2 weeks after I had complained about the noise. The told me that “the reason the engine is making that noise must be just how the engines are these days” so that didn’t sound great for me but however they sent me away and said there was nothing they could do because they didn’t find anything. So I left that and pushed it aside. Until…a month and a half goes by and I always do a full service with my cars. From said brand specialist e.g bmw ford Audi Mercedes ext. after I had said service the gentleman then finds there to be a rocker cover leak, rocker cover gasket leak and a rear output shaft leak so I then got in contact with them and they didn’t respond after many emails I then managed to get them on the phone and they said that they would have a look into this. Many weeks went buy nothing so I called them again and asked what was going on?They said that there is a gray area here because even tho I had the service done in the warranty period I reported it outside of the warranty time. (Which was only 6 or so days after because I could get in contact with them) after saying this they also said that I could have got the garage to change the dates on my receipts and they couldn’t prove if I did or not (I hadn’t The receipts were the original that I got from the specialist the day I had it done) However after that they didn’t respond to any of my emails so I had to go to vehicle ombudsman which I can ad they aren’t a member of meaning vehicle ombudsman can’t do anything. Therefore I know that you get a legality when you buy a car that if it’s satisfactory standards up to 6 months it is not right of use for the buyer. So I then had to go to citizens advice for there help and after sending 4 letters I finally got a response last letter meaning no response it will then get taken to court. All of a sudden they responded and what they said was “we received your letter and we are speaking to our legal department” and I then still didn’t hear anything for another prolonged time. so I then emailed them again asking what would happen following there email. They finally responded with “we can take a look at it and go from there” yet it has already been looked at and told exactly what is wrong with it. Anyhow they said they can look at it…great. I asked when can I take it to you? they said “whatever date suits you” so I gave them a date and they then said “ok but there won’t be a courtesy car available.”So I asked can you give me a date you have one available please? And nothing… so I then reply with “I will keep the receipts of all the oil I’m buying so you can cover my cost because it’s down to you why I’m having to buy it” then all of a sudden I get another email saying they have one miraculously available. I emailed them asking when can I bring it down and now I’m back to being ignored on email and now phone calls.This is now 6 months of waiting for them to do something and still nothing.I’m sorry for such a long review for those who have read all this but this is what I would reckon to be a great help if I was to be looking at the reviews to see if I want to buy a car.

I bought a car for my son from Gwent Car Sales in December 2022. Unfortunately the car down near Aberystwyth this week. As the car was still under its 3 month warranty. They authorised a local garage to repair it with no fuss or any hassles.All the team were very helpful and professional.Thanks again very all your help.Carl&Owen Johnson
