A fantastic day out. We were warmly welcomed by Adrian and Sarah. Tea, coffee and delicious, fresh from the oven biscuits were in plentiful supply! Amy was a fantastic teacher and was very patient with us! It was hard work physically, but we were delighted with the results. I would thoroughly recommend this experience.

I did a willow weaving course here and had a great time. It was good fun and well taught. Sarah and Adrian were lovely and the lunch was tasty. I'd highly recommend them.

I enjoyed the basket weaving workshop very much. I didn't have any prior experience, and Ellie explained every step clearly. It was a very relaxed environment. Lunch was delicious. Lovely photos they took of everyone.

I had a fantastic day on the asymmetrical basket making course. Sarah and Adrian were the perfect hosts, and what a magical setting. It was peaceful but also a very mindful day of craft. And I have a lovely basket to treasure. Sarah made us delicious lunch and cookies, coffee pot on the fire to keep us going. Couldn't have been better. I can't wait to come another time soon!

We had the best day learning a new craft, and Adrian and Sarah were friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. I would thoroughly recommend a course with them, it was a real escape and we left with some great spoons!

This venue really is a special place and you can tell the owners have put their heart and soul into making it as warm and welcoming as possible. Set in the beautiful Surrey Hills in an open sided barn, it really is a peaceful and mindful experience. Great food and atmosphere where i spent the day learning about basket making. I will most definitely return!

I attended the asymmetric basket course in September and had a brilliant day. Lovely classmates, great teacher and an inspiring location. The teacher paced the class just right and we all left with a beautiful creation. Our hosts were very welcoming - lovely experience, I would highly recommend!

What a wonderful morning at Joy Farms! The workshop is a very welcoming place. The woodcarving workshop started with fresh coffee and homemade biscuits while we sat around an open fire. Then we got to work chopping up a log and using it to carve a spatula. The green wood was satisfying to carve and I came away delighted with my spatula! Thanks for a fun, informative day.

Enjoyed a wonderful day making a wooden bowl on a pole lathe - it's impressive what you can make without power tools. The venue is the perfect place to completely switch off and unwind - the owners have a very calming way about them. Would definitely come back, highly recommended!

I have come home smoky and satisfied with aching muscles and a brilliant spoon. Adrian is lovely, he learned spoon carving the hard way so is an excellent teacher, and Sarah provided an iron pot full of a bean and pasta stew with Parmesan and lots of bread for lunch, cooked and eaten around the burning embers of a campfire. Hot drinks and brownies sustained us, and there were instructions and diagrams on picture postcards for everyone, who had plenty of commitment and enthusiasm, not so much memory for a huge amount of information about unfamiliar techniques and things to look out for, as might be expected. The equipment was sharpened to surgical effectiveness and any orthopaedic surgeons thinking of doing this course would find hips a doddle. We made spoons from hunks of willow, as a fellow said from “log to lunch”. We want to go back to make spatulas. The other people on the course were each, like us, eager to learn and brimming with life’s inspiration. And there’s a labrador.
